Default Enclosed Trailer Prices south of Mason Dixon :-)

I'm told the prices for enclosed trailers.. Maybe an 8.5 x 12 are a little better south of my Boston location.....

Anyone know of a dealership with great prices south of me?? I'm willing to take a road trip!!

Funny because I just went through this. Donít bother going to VA, because you are still gonna pay through the nose and used ones are damn near the price of new in decent shape. The best prices I could find were in Georgia. Ended up getting a used 6x12 tandem axle there for 2100.

The Big Tex dealer in Commerce Georgia is often really reasonable. And you'll pay no sales tax out of state. He deals a few different brands. He also deals in Aluma brand too. Best prices on those for sure. Ive bought three trailers from him. Hes right on !-85 just a few miles into Georgia from SC. Call him. Hell give you a rock bottom price like right off the bat.

Just one but google south ga trailer sales and go from there. CASH WORKS WONDERS> and i'm not being a smart butt. Tell them you will bring cash. Price will drop.
Always get a v nose. You can build a complete work bench for tools winch, lot of storage up front. Motorcycle trailer for the harley. If you guys are using for your bike stick a TV in there. Your bike gets lonely during winter. LOL

Diamond cargo has a pretty good bang for your buck. I have one and its been pretty good so far just needs bigger air vents.

Both of mine I picked up from Georgia factories. One is a 5X8 I've had for about 12 years, the other is a 8.5X24 I got last year (technically bought it secondhand from a guy who picked it up in Georgia but it has less than 500 miles on it.) Most of the ones you see come from Georgia factories so you are paying their transport and markup. Might as well transport it yourself and save the markup. Look on ebay, you can find them with very little markup since they are just wholesalers and you pick it up from the factory yourself.

Bingo. OP little something about South GA. Same guy owns several of those plants. Diamond is one of the plants he owns. Furbird nailed it. Guys do the easy sale thing call the company get the rights to sell their trailers get on e bay, hell if they make 100 dollars thats 100 they ain't got. Very same thing I did. . I just googled the company once I found out the name called them direct offered cash day of pickup, with a 500 dollar down payment through pay pal I cut the wholesaler out. .I deal with sales guys all day every day with my job. I'll drive a car dealer crazy. Have you so pissed off you will want to give me what ever it is to get me shut up and out of there. LOL
Kinda like Lexus and Toyota. There are still folks out there that don't know its the very same ownership. Ford Lincoln.
Mans got a good business thing going down there.

Iím a little south of Boston, when I priced my 20í to a comparable trailer down south the fuel, hotels and 3 days of my time werenít worth the savings.

My buddy here has been selling trailers for decades..no trailers on his lot. Can't get them right now, and if he can they are stupid expensive wholesale. Buys from Georgia.

I’m 300’miles south of you. In 2016 I needed a 7x14 with barn doors and enlarged side door for a piece of machinery. Shopped around and ended up ordering one from a small local shop. Paid $4900. By the time I factored in shipping or my time and expenses driving 700+ miles each way to grab one the savings would have been a few hundred dollars.

Boston to Georgia and back will kill two days, add in a day to recover from 35 hours on the road, gas and tolls not worth it in my opinion unless you were headed down that way already. .

Are you looking for a steel framed trailer or aluminum?

I'm in Tallahassee so it's a long way for you to travel but I went to Monticello Florida and bought a CSA 7 x 12 V nose single axle for 2200. Instead of the desk area in the V-nose shown above I put a 2dx4wx6h metal shelf unit in the front and attached it. I use mine for tool storage, material and lawn mower hauling.

Iím in the same boat. Looking to buy two new 8.5x16 enclosed. Every single location is out of stock. Iím thinking about custom ordering 2 out of Georgia. But not sure if anyone can recommend a legit factory with a good reputation?

Thanks guys!

The best prices in New England are most likely going to be from:

https://www.onestoptrailershop.com/ in Barrington, NH

and

https://www.scottsrecreation.com/ in Manchester, ME

Depends on what your plans are for the trailer but I think aluminum is worth it. I bought a relatively high end Legend aluminum trailer from Zach at One Stop a few years ago and the trailer is a thing of beauty, people ask about it all the time.

Unless you are going to weigh it down (speaking of enclosed cargo) you may want to pass on aluminum. A guy shipping one of my scoots from FL to SC told me when it is empty (he had a beautiful aluminum one), the wind will literally lift one side off the pavement on the interstate. I didn't think in a trailer that size (like 7x16) it would matter that much, but he said he's likely going to replace it with a steel one. I've had two cargo trailers, a 7x14 and a 6x12 both steel and I never experienced that..

I had a great experience with Kaufman trailers. They do not discount, the prices are good online. I bought a 21' flatbed car hauler from them.

https://www.kaufmantrailers.com/enclosed-trailers/

edit, now that I think about it, I was able to work out a 3% discount with cash
