New Porsche Pricing
Never thought I would open this can of worms but here goes. I know nothing about Porsches, questions follow. Please advise on other questions to ask.
How firm are new Porsche prices? Is it a mistake to own one out of warranty? Are parts and maintenance stupid expensive? Will they last as long as modern common vehicles? Thoughts are a base Panamera 4 Sport Turismo. The self adjusting LED headlight system and infrared night vision are intriguing, anyone have experience with these options? The website mentions a New Panamera but very little information on it. Thanks |
You need to remove the front bumper and headlights to change the air filter......
Need I say more? |
Porsche car's , parts and service are more expensive than your normal vehicle.
But, they are nice cars and very fun to drive... |
Expensive parts and maintenance - yes
stupid to own out of warranty -yes awesome and fun to drive -yes you get what you pay for ! |
Does that model remind anybody of a sportscar station wagon?
Screams station wagon to me. Much better looking models of Porsche out there. |

Need I say more? I wonder if this bizarre engineering fail has been addressed on the New Panamera. |

Screams station wagon to me. Much better looking models of Porsche out there. I recently rediscovered my love of high milage days. The long wheelbase of the Panamera will yield a much less choppy ride than the sporty, attractive models. We also have two large, hairy family members that love to go with us hence the station wagon. |
Nicks pretty cool . Here's what thought process he went thru buying his 911 . Maybe it will help . I would think they'd be a lot of wiggle in a Pamamera .

Just for kicks

One of the more reliable cars you can buy even out of Warranty, its not like your typical German manufactures.

Expensive parts and maintenance - yes Panamerica? Maybe. A traditional Porsche, not so much. Parts are plentiful and not over-priced stupid to own out of warranty -yes The problem is the a Porsche doesn't have all of those nigglies that break alot, so you don't go to the dealer very much....but don't know about Panamericas or similar. My porsche mechanic is close by and wears hand-me-downs, because he doesn't make enough money to but new ;) awesome and fun to drive -yes yes you get what you pay for ! |
My cardiologist has an older Ferrari Tesstarossa, a late model Lamborghini and a bunch of thoroughbred cars. It takes the Ferrari dealership a week removing the rear end of the Ferrari just to adjust the valves every year.
And his every day driver is a Porsche 911. It's about the only supercar that actually durable and roadworthy every day. And it's the only ultra high performance car that has an engine that will last 550,000 miles if properly maintained. And they're worth every cent of what they cost. Think they cost too much? Get a new mid engine Corvette. |

Buy a special package and trade in every year. Looks like the best way to buy a Porsche, they go for stupid money second hand for some reason.
I looked long and hard at a used one for my toy car, 1-2 year old models were more than new on the kind of cars I was looking at. |

Porsche out of warranty? Not to bad. Not as bad as others.
BMW out of warranty? Hell no. Includes everything everything they have had their hands in. Mini and RR. Land Rover/Jaguar? Hell no in or out of warranty. |
Yes, parts and service are expensive at the dealer. Find a good independent mechanic and enjoy the best cars money can buy. Have had 4 of them over the past year or two.
I usually buy them CPO and get 6 year, unlimited mile Porsche factory warranty. It’s good for piece of mind and resale. |
