Default Don't Speak English

Watching Cable News the other night I couldn't believe my ears. Two little black girls were thrown off a school bus in Minnesota for speaking ENGLISH. It turns out that the bus was for spanish speaking students only. Are you F'n kidding me? Tax payers money pays for the school buses and tax payers kids are thrown off the bus? What are the chances that most of the kids on the bus parents pay taxes?
Are we going back to the fifties? English speaking riders to the back of the bus...............
You'll never see this crap on the liberal network stations.

My town is crawling will illegal taco benders. It is literally the way it is here; go into Home Depot and on every isle there will be folks that donít know two words in English.

And the illegal ones arenít hard to find. Every single one of them is 5-ft 2-in tall, wearing a baseball cap, and canít speak English. Itís kind of a running joke around here.

As a reminder, the United States of America is gone!!! Clinton set it up, Bush executed it. It took teamwork from both sides.

not as a justification to the policy of a non english speaking bus only, but listening to the mother getting interviewed, it sounds as though there was more to the story.

It appears that they had moved in the last year, to a new residence which was no longer in the same school district they had previously been in. This particular bus stop was the closest to their home, however that doesn't mean that it was the correct one for them to be using.

I know for a fact that if you want to ride the bus for either of the two school districts where I grew up, you are asigned a bus, you dont pick it out. You can appeal this, but appeals are rarely granted. If you live so much as a foot outside of the district you want to go to, you either have to get yourself to that school, or go to the one you are supposed to go to. Public school is something that is provided tax payers, the users of the system should at least be smart enough to figure out which school they are supposed to use, and what they have to do to get their.

Of course there is. There is a crap load of court cases that established a school districts responsibility for the children to/from point a and point b.

Sounds to me more like someone is trying to set their kid up for college by playing the race card.

May need to do as Farmers Branch Texas has..........

RESOLUTION NO. 2006-130

RESOLUTION DECLARING ENGLISH AS THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF THE CITY OF FARMERS BRANCH.

Whereas, the English language is the common language of the City of Farmers Branch, of the State of Texas and of the United States; and

Whereas, the use of a common language removes barriers of

misunderstanding and helps to unify the people of Farmers Branch, this State and the United States, and helps to enable the full economic and civic participation of all of its citizens, regardless of national origin, creed, race or other characteristics, and thus a compelling governmental interest exists in promoting, preserving, and strengthening the use of the English language; and

Whereas, proficiency in the English language, as well as in languages other than the English language, benefits Farmers Branch both economically and culturally and should be encouraged; and

Whereas, in addition to any other ways to promote proficiency in the English language, the City of Farmers Branch can promote proficiency in English by using the English language in its official actions and through activities such as supporting and enhancing English language usage, grammar, and literature programs and studies in its public library and other programs of the City; and

Whereas, in todayís society, Farmers Branch may also need to protect and preserve the rights of those who speak only the English language to use or obtain governmental programs and benefits; and

Whereas, the City of Farmers Branch can reduce costs and promote efficiency, in its roles as employer and as a government accountable to the people, by using the English language in its official actions and activities.

I didn't get that opinion from watching the interview. The mother seemed pretty laid back and mellow. The issue about her moving and being inthe wrong district is a load of crap. It's just the school system trying to divert the attention away from their F'up. The point remains...........This is America, why is there a Spanish speaking only School Bus? I don't remember my parents ever talking about riding an Italian only bus.

I dont mind there being a Spanish speaking only bus, it keeps the little friole fryers all in one spot where you can keep an eye on em. Of course, to be fair, there should be English only busses. And English only convenience stores, gas stations, and English only classrooms.

But then, I support a Miss White America contest, the National Association for the Advancement of White People, and a White American college scholarship program. I dont mind other races, but I dont like being forced to associate with people by political decisions.

Somebody please tell me that the spanish only bus only makes one stop (on the other side of the border). When the kids from that bus get to school what language are the teachers going to be speaking? A note to all persons planning on moving to a foreign country. Learn to speak the native language of that country. I try to speak spanish when I VISIT Mexico. My spanish isn't very good but its a hell of a lot better than the english of the amigos that LIVE up here.
