Mosquitos are pretty bad. Need a big fat doe to take my mind off them haha.

Went out last week for first time. Cooler mornings and evenings are getting me more in the mood to get out. Fishing trip this coming week then start hitting the woods with more consistency. Good luck to everyone out there!

Had 3 bed down 15 feet behind me this morning. Nothing I could do other than get a neck cramp.

Fishingwell, nice buck!
I’m seeing a lot of deer and passed on a pretty nice 8 point last night.
Really nice to have the game rolling.

I haven't this year.

I decided to give up on the place I've hunted the last few years. it's a 100 yard 20 degree climb to get to my stand. I'd consistently sit for hours and not see or hear a thing and then on the drive home a 1/4 mile down the road would be a field with 100 deer grazing in it. And the guy who owns it is very adamant about not shooting does. He doesn't understand less does = more competition, so you are more likely to see a buck in the daylight.

Plus, and I know this is going to sound crazy, but it's on the border of a huge forest, and there have been lots of bigfoot sightings in the area. Beginning of last season I got to my stand and smelled the worst god awful BO truckers sweaty buttcrack smell I've smelled in my entire life. It hung around about 20 minutes and then dissipated. Kind of stopped feeling comfortable there after that.

My uncle hunts from his back porch. His house is up against a couple acres of woods in a suburb area. He dumps some corn 10 yards from his back porch and the deer come right up even with him sitting on the porch. He waits for the one he wants and pops it with his crossbow. He invited me to come out this season. Sounds good to me, I just want to stock the freezer.

You can joke, but this was nothing like that at all. It wasn't something rotting because it went away after about 20 minutes.
It wasn't just a normal no deodorant BO smell.

The only way I can describe it is, the fat kid in high school who never got the memo on showering or deodorant x 1000. It left a taste.
