Default Sports cars

Pretend you have a $200,000 budget but don’t have to spend it all what would you buy and why?

factor in depreciation cost of ownership as well as reliability.

I'd buy a $20k used vette, a $20k used 3/4 ton, and put the other $160k in the bank.

Carrera S. Is there anything else that has comparable performance and is as reliable as the Porsche?

Cars have gone up in price since the pandemic but a Huracan 610-4 or 458 spyder would be my choice. 610 is going to be newer in tech and better riding but Ferrari has some soul and is rwd. Plus their last NA V8.

I’m not brave enough to own a sports car. My wife’s outback 3.6r is hard enough to keep within the speed limit.

that new corvette sure looks nice.

Well, I just bought a 36,000 mile 2004 SL600. Been chipped. 600hp, 750 torque.
Paid 13,500.
Bought my wife a 80,000 mile red/red 2004 sl500 for 10,000.
Covid fear was wonderful for me.
Leaves me with $176,500 to buy gas for the boats.

Not sports cars but I'd opt for a '69 Chevelle SS396 or '64 GTO. Both w/engines doctored by Nick's Garage.

If you can find a Ford GT for $200K I would buy it. They are appreciating so fast it's crazy. I read about guys that are selling them for more than twice what they paid for them. Corvettes hold their value probably better than any other American car so this would be on my list too.

Got to remember that the ultra expensive sports cars the maintenance costs are simply crazy money.

This^ if I could find one. Otherwise? No thanks.

Probably just buy the Ram Rebel TRX and put the other $100k in the market.
