Hard to image that sized boat with twin 270 small blocks. What is the owner telling you about cruise and fuel burn with those motors. I would think they are working awfully hard to move that boat making for very poor fuel burn if that is a consideration.

Itís been a long time since I had mine but it had Floscans and would run around 18 knots in the 3200 range. From memory it was .75 mpg. What I noticed was bumping it up to 3600-3800 the fuel usage didnít change much, used more fuel but went faster. The Luhrs 34 from the late 80s was the same basic hull with 454s and the fuel usage and speeds were more or less the same.

^Well, that's not as bad as I figured. SInce I cruise at 17-18 knots too I can't fault the speed!

These boats are light and have a shallow dead rise. They arenít battle wagons, and I was leary in twin small blocks (I had a 29í express with twin 270s before it and couldnít imagine them being enough for a 34í fly bridge) but they did fine in the boat. I looked at one that was repowered with twin 454s, however the seller had zero info on performance, whether transmissions or shafts were replaced etc.

my opinion Is that $22k is way overpriced unless it’s in perfect condition.
