Seen an albino and plenty that were all sorts of brown and gray shades, but never all in one squirrel. Might would have to shoot that one in the neck rather than the eye and get it mounted.

Most likely a female with different X inactivation in different parts of the developing fetus. Another possible explanation is that it is a fusion of an embryo that was to be brown with one to be white at a very early development when each was just a few cells.

Wow! Cool pic! Never seen a piebald one. My pops killed an albino one many years ago when we were squirrel hunting. Never had seen one of those before or since either.

I had a black squirrel with a gray and white striped tail show up at my feeder for a couple years.
Inbred or some aberration of nature ...???

I seen one like that in Black and White once.

I was sitting in a climbing tree stand deer hunting in north florida in 1980s
It came down a tree near me..... It was huge. I was actually afraid it was going to jump on me. It was about the size of a cat. I bet it weighed 5-10 lb.

We had one in our neighborhood in PA that was standard color, but with a blonde tail.

Only saw it around one summer...

I have 3 deer in my neighborhood that are almost all white, one with brown ears, one with a brown forehead and the baby has a brown head. Piebald. I thought they might be albino but no they are called Piebald.
