Default When do you use credit cards?

The other thread made me wonder,I have been using my credit card to pay many bills, as long as they don't charge a convenience fee. I do pay the bill off every month, no exceptions. Do any of you do this? Seems like free money to me.
And, for the record, I am a dinosaur.

Nope, nada, nothing. I have an account that I pay bills from and buy things online from that I don’t keep a lot of money in. I move money in and out of it as needed. We don’t use credit cards, paying off all of our remaining debt and not worshiping at the alter if FICO anymore. F^ck the whole credit scam. We are not playing that game anymore.

All credit has done is convince people that they can buy things they can’t afford and has done things like drive the price of a 1500 truck up to $80K.

Always, it's like putting some extra money in the bank...and never paid a penny in interest...!!!

Plus my wife is a master at getting all kinds of free promotional money, goodies etc.. by signing up for CC's, spending the minimum and then dumping them.

I use a cashback credit card for EVERYTHING, definitely for things that do not charge a convenience fee. Even bills. For bills that charge a fee greater than the cash back, I use online BBT Bill pay and send them a check.

Not using a CC is leaving money on the table. Of course you have to pay the statement balance every month. But we get a lot of cash back and it's simple, so why not?

Plus you can chargeback stuff or have the CC company fight fraudulent charges. I see no reason for not using one.

Same as many others...if it doesn't cost me any more then I always pay with credit card and pay the entire balance of the bill always...nobody gets points, miles or cash back by paying with cash!

Also, use Getupside app for gas and double up. Cash back from the app and also cash back from the CC I use.

Just like you
Everything goes on the card as long as there's no fee
The card gets paid off every month

The points pay for dinners at Ruth's Chris or Capital Grill

Never. I have one card I use monthly and it's for gas. Balance gets paid in full the end of every month and ONLY gas goes on that card. Nothing else. Occasionally I'll put travel on a travel rewards card I have but that's it.

800-825 score with the 3 agencies.

Everything I buy goes on my credit card. Don't remember the last time my debit card left my wallet. Very diligent about paying it off and have never carried a balance.

I use ours for unlimited car wash and Hulu. If I need something on line also. Always paid off, never a balance.

If I need to use it for a repair I always send the full amount in before I get the bill.

Nice not having debt and a score > than 800

I pay for my vacations using cc sign on bonuses and cashback. Everything goes on a card if they dont charge a convenience fee. I even use cc for medical instead of medical debit card, then request reimbursement from provider to pay cc bill. Always pay off card when due or the cashback game is not worth it.

I use them for everything I possibly can, as long as there are no fees or missing out on discounts. I use mostly travel perk cards and use the points throughout the year. I think it helps us splurge more on travel so prefer it over cash back.

I also like the different buyer protection features as well as easy to access itemized list of all my purchases and expenses.

Lately, my last three monthly bills have been $7k to $10k each So I’ve been charging like crazy furnishing a house and Outfitting a boat I just picked up.

Use a card whenever I can. I get cash back, it's a no brainer. Always paid off each month.

I fly at least 20 times a year for free on points from 2 cards. If I pay the same price for a credit purchase as a cash purchase, why wouldn't I use a card? I use a card for every recurring payment I can think of for my business and for every personal purchase each month. They get paid off every month electronically, so I don't even have to write a single check. Easy, peasy. I don't know anything about worshiping FICO, but they don't impact me one way or another.

Groceries, storage area, boat storage, utility bill, prescriptions, gas, restaurants, cable, just about everything. I pay it off with one check at the end of the month. I get the Jet Blue flight miles, so I use it whenever possible.
