Default post your toy haulers

assuming the pre purchase inspection goes well, we are buying a salem fsx 280RT tomorrow. I have a rather detailed punch list of items to look over, so I am pretty sure the dealer will just love my wife and I! anyway, post up your haulers. we also went full crazy and bought a golf cart this weekend, but to be honest we got a killer deal on it. tow vehicle is my 2012 f150 fx4 with the ecoboost motor, max tow, with the 3.73 rear end. I went ahead and bought a husky 32218 weight distributing and stabilizing hitch. shouldn't be any weight issues

we started this endeavor looking at 18 ft campers with bunks then made the mistake of walking in a 'big' trailer...

lol! I have no clue how it is still in operation - and EVERYTHING is open! The restaurant, the arcade, the hotel, the Mexico Store...everything!

It blows my mind. And it's old as hell and needs updating but I can't necessarily say it's way run down. I mean, it's not nice either.

Good tamales. That's why I stopped.

I remember in the ‘80’s driving to FL from philly in the back of the family station wagon counting the number of signs we saw heading south. I believe they started in Maryland. Always wondered how much money they spent every year.

CFarmd, you did go big. Good looking toy hauler. Some inside photos would be cool

Best friend has one they do dirt. Rav, ATVs place called Busco in Wilson NC they do and stay the whole weekend thing. Its a campfire party playground for the ATVs and Ravs. Don't think any v8 motor units are allowed but they have a good time. I'm just not into dirt. I get dirty enough with the job. LOL

I"m still stickng to the old tried and true the latest slide in camper is the lance 1191 but nothing escapes the customizing.
Took the dinette out put a electric love seat in there, LG surround sound with the bass canon behind the couch, tight but worked perfect 32 inch smartTV mounted on the closet door. Pull the 32 foot race, motorcycle trailer or the boats. Which ever one we want to play with. Can do them all with the slide in. Bought a 6kw open ray 4 foot for the ocean boat can't install that till mid OCT we are booked with our adventures till then and thats the weekend of the mountain motorcycle trip I posted on here about. Cookout party at the house this weekend some friends are staying in my camper, i'm sure there will be a camp fire and a few beer killed.

There the toys I pull with the slide in, posted a picture of the 48 inch extention and dolley, generator on the front of the truck so its quiet in the camper. I hate that onboard generator and its coming out over winter. Take it to a fab shop let them make a huge storage ben out of that.

.

Rear view camera's you see, there are two back there. One for watching the hitch when i'm backing up and one just for seeing whats behind me going down the road. Wireless cameras, and if yours does not have them they are so simple to install. Mount the monitor on the dash of your pickup, mount the camera's on the ass end and there just two wires to hook them up. There wireless.

Wire them into your clearence lights. When you want your camera's to come on just turn on your clearence lights.
About a hour job if you know what your doing. I"m thinking about upgrading to a 3 or 4 camera system so I can have the two on the back of the camper and one each on the ass end of the bike trailer and race trailer. 100 to 150 on e bay is all they cost. So simple.

Thank you. Striper season is just about here, can't wait to get that radar on throw that camper on Deltiville VA and CBBT weekends here we come.
The old gone fishing with the Fountain behind it I had that camper on that dodge for 4 years. never took it off. If the dodge left the yard a toy was behind it. That newer lance is nice but you have to have a 3500 and up to haul it. I'm 14000 pounds just the truck and camper but that is our toy hauler. Taxes and those weighted tags cost me 700 a year. NO shit. Have to have 25000 weighted tags. Not cheap. LOL

Dodge Lance and Foster Child behind it. Weekend adventure. Boats named Foster Child. I am. LOL

Cfarmd, you can drag that toy hailer to deltiville come along or get on Pocher the charter boat that moves from OBX to Deltiville early for some awesome pre season striper fishing. They get there first. Nothing like a camp fire, little music, cold beer and camping under the stairs after a full day of fishing. Does it get any better than that. .

Thats Deltiville fishing. two couples 4 onboard. I"m no beauty queen but I can find fish.

If you had a 5th wheel you wouldn't.

My truck has 10k tags. But yeah NC is a bitch about it.

Or an Excursion/Suburban 3/4T. Can tow whatever you want with those, no weighed tag necessary. Ahh bureaucracy.

Pedros is where meth mix’s with gasoline. I have to stop there about 1x a month and I don’t get it. The bathrooms are creepy as hell. I always have my CC on me when I’m at that exit! Here’s the old trailer with the 200mph busa in the bed. Miss that bike, miss road racing and drag racing, hated that trailer. Gave up the toy hauler for a luxury 5r. Best decision ever

YEP. Pay to play.
but trucks now have the best of both worlds. Old dodge I had to buy the ball receiver, new trucks come with them in then. Factory. Pull that camper off takes 5 seconds to install the ball, gooseneck here we come. I think they make a extention for the 5th wheels where you can hook them to a ball. Never needed it but I'm on several camper fourms and hear it mentioned. If camper compaines would make those campers gooseneck it sure would be easier on the 5th wheelers. LOL
That Bureaucracy again. Just more to buy.

I've seen plenty of fifth wheels at the campground we go to with the gooseneck adapters. They work but pretty sketchy in my opinion...the pin box on a 5th wheel isn't necessarily designed for that extra leverage in the same way a gooseneck is.

I hear ya on the new trucks...they finally outfitted them from the factory to do what they were intended to do!. I was lucky, my 99 already had a B&W turnover ball installed so when we decided to start using the camper all I needed to do was purchase the companion 5th wheel hitch...$500 off Craigslist. Thing is STOUT.

Best part is when it's removed the bed is flush just like with the turnover ball. The Reese and others use mounting rails which kind of suck.

I do much prefer the 5th wheel over the gooseneck. I usually have a toolbox mounted to the bed and it blocks the view of the ball so a gooseneck is a real pecker to hook up.

With the 5th as you know, you get it +/- 2" and it'll scoot it over.

This was mine. Sold it a few years ago. Miss camping terribly. Some of our greatest memories were in that toy hauler. My Roadglide and my wife's Streetglide in the back. All over NC/TN a couple times a year. Still have the bikes.

Good lord. Look at the jaws on that sucker. One advantage to on those 5th wheels is you have a little more stable flat platform so they don't lean as bad but you still have to drive like you have some since. I've seen my share of hot shot rigs truck and trailer on its side. You have enough room to run one of those large Lowers took boxes with a honda 3000 eu generator in front that hitch to. Thats the ticket. Be self contained camp anywhere. Gererator in the front of my truck use to be in the box behind the cab, when I had the 48 foot trailer. Sold that trailer moved back to the 32 tag so I could go back to the slide in. We try things in life seeing how we like them, I had a blast with that 48 foot toy hauler but I"ve backed out of racing now, and missed my slide in, and the fun I used to have with it so i'm back in the game with this Lance
. O god, I"m a e bay, Craigs list, and market place fool. Wheeling and dealing with a boy on a bigger lowrance now, if he takes the bait. LMAO.Found to more pictures when I was building it like I wanted it. Call that my mood light add on's.
Think I"m up to 1580 buys on e bay now. LOL
Tweeking everything out to boats camper and the motorcycle, but when that day comes I can hold a bike up which I dont see any time soon, lose the motorcycle and its trailer, buy a open trailer will haul a sling shot to the mountains but get it big enough I can put beach buggy on there that Toyota Tacome so were still be enjoying the camper yanking everything behind it. I have the air compresson and the honda in that lowes box to start with but dropped back to just generator box. . Air compressor is 110v plugged right into the honda 100 foot cord could fix my own flats air up rafts, built the front so could have both just took one off so I could add that jerry cans. Fall and spring without running the AC in the camper what I have on the front of the truck will last me a whole weekend, 3 days camping with that 3000 eu. Girl loves camping, motorcycle, and the beach. Shes ready to roll anytime. Its me that has to keep her grounded. LMAO.

When I slow down sometime in the next 50 years, already have a RV outlet on the other side of my property for two RVs. Had a friend that had one wanted to bring his down, he sold that first one to his daughter bought him another one, they use to come down spend the weekends worked out great we have a blast he finally made a deal to trade houses hes on the water now about 30 miles from here so they sold their campers but that poll is still there. two 50s on it so i'm set up for anything and his daughters husband set that up for me. Fishing, campfires, camping and good times are what its all about to me. Ya just got to understand iffin ya come over we talks a little funny round here. We should have a get together hook a charter and do it at the beach some time with those that want to.
I got the portable fire pits buy a load of cut, seasoned wood every year for inside the house and the pits. Would be fun. That poll is right in front the dock so iffin I piss mama off I have to take the camper life ain't so bad.
Like they say in Carolina. Yall come now,,, ya hear.

Yall see that wood stacked up between the two trees just in front that camper on the right. ? Anytime is a good time for a campfire.
