See what she says without giving any more info. Maybe she can see it in her minds eye.
Wouldn't that be something if it worked.
What can it hurt asking? Maybe her answer may spark my memory.

Sometimes when looking for something I walk slowly through the area where I believe the lost or set a tool or item down.
It can feel like I am being pulled towards where I think is may be or the opposite, pushed away, like a magnet.
Kinda like the warmer/colder game.
Still, no key found.

I never heard of good habits or routine. They are hard to create but worth it.
OP: I would look closely in the area where she interrupted you. What did you do next? Look on top of things. A flashlight helps to focus. Then the area around the drawer.

The electronic item finders help. Like Tile. People w good habits don’t need them.

Real problem is the 4 year old.

Tile is a great tool. Helped find lost keys when you have your phone and vice versa.

Let me know if you find my saltwater fly boxes (yes two of them) while you are looking for your stuff. Put them away late fall/winter of 2018 and my wife and i said to each other "now remember where we are putting these". Fast forward to last spring and no fly boxes, looked off and on for a couple of months leading up to a Bermuda trip. Turned the house, shed, garage upside down but no boxes. Have since replaced but one day it will feel like the lottery when they turn up....each box took a few years to fill and probably has 40-50 good flies in it.....ouch.

Preach it brother. I use it to take a pic of my hiding spot and where I parked my car at the airport.

It gets worse, I need the title for the dealership to make new keys. Can't find that either. I found the title to a boat I bought in 1975, the motorcycle that last ran in 1987 but not the Jeep we got six months ago. Arrrgg.
