Default Rock, fossil, tooth, what is it?

My daughter was looking for sharks teeth in a friends yard that has shell in the back area. They have found a few and some other interesting things. Then she found this. The closest thing she found it resembling is a triceratops tooth.

They weren't ever found in Florida to the best of my knowledge. She is now curious and trying to look into it. Ill admit, it does look like a tooth, but im far from an expert at it. Its probably just a rock. For size reference its about 3/4" tall.

St. Pete, FL. The load of shell came from around the time they were dredging the shipping channel near Ft. Desoto. That shark tooth came from there too. Thats what sparkedher interest.

I'm pretty sure it's a fossil I've seen before, I just can't come up with a name for it. Try posting it over at the Venice Fossil Divers page on Scubaboard.
