Default Spar Varnish on Deck

Has anybody had any luck using clear coats such as oil-based Spar Varnish polyurethane on pressure treatedtreated decks? Have you found any clear coat that actually protect the wood and last more than a season?

I used Rust-Oleum on my outdoor wood picnic table. In the sun and heat, the previous coating peeled off. I lightly sanded the table and applied 3 coats of this and it looks amazing. It only took roughly 2 hours for the spar varnish to dry. I no longer worry about the sun destroying my table. You can consider it.
