Default Shit is real...and has hit home

Granddaughter 18 years old...never got anything but an "A" all the way through school.....was accepted by many schools.....chose Penn State, full ride scholarship. starting this year in two weeks.

She is a very industrious person and even through scheduled to leave in just two weeks for school, still going to work at Winn Dixie minimum wage.

Went to work Friday, they shot her coming in the door with the temp probe, she had a fever....manager came and said "go to work anyway"...this is in Westchase in Tampa, upscale community.'

Today, sick as a dog...all the symptoms ....trying to get tested today expedited CVS......has not happened...yet.

seems pretty criminal for a manger of Winn Dixie to know his employee has a temperature and still tells her to go to work, symptomatic.

Somebody needs to do something about this.....think of all the shoppers exposed.......

I know restaurant owners who had employees test positive, but were asymptomatic. They told the employees they can come to work if they want.

Are you surprised that some 21 year old front end manager told her to work? Why didn't she step up and say "hell no" I am not working if she was so concerned about her fever?

The main thing is that she felt well enough to work her shift, so why blame the employer? It would be easier to vent on your grand-daughter for wanting money despite a bit of temperature.
It is always easier to blame someone else.

Its called the Rapid Test and our Government hasn't woken up yet, maybe they will eventually. Imagine taking a test at home Before you go to work or school that will get you results in a minute or two and cost pennies

If she was that worried she shouldn't have worked. I do agree the employer should have sent her home if they are doing temp checks at the door. I think there are two sides of the story here.

I don't see how someone complained about "her" being able to sue. This is part of the reason there needs to be some type of liability protection. If not all companies are done for for people simply extorting a situation for money.

If you are concerned do something other than posting on a forum.

I wish your granddaughter well and hopefully she tests negative.

She had the ability to say no...she sounds like a diligent hard working young lady who has fortitude and goals...I wish her well in her recovery and understand your frustration....those who bust their ass usually get the short end.....I trust she will learn and be better from this...another piece of AMMO for her to gauge life as she ventures thru it....one day this decision she made may reflect greatly in the future and help many.

cost pennies, and guess what comes with a cheap cost? cheap results! so the accuracy of rapid tests are worth about as much as the package it comes in!

Total fake news. Nothing has passed that takes away her right to sue. Problem is who is she going to sue? She had a fever before she went in on the day in question. You think you could prove she got symptomatic after that day at work. She already had a symptom. Stop spreading fake news

OP sorry to hear. Hope she doesn't have it. Is in nasty and a host of potential long term effects even for positives with no current symptoms.

You all get on here to bitch, for information and to answers posts asking sometimes information, but mostly for self validation bragging and venting. You guys are a bunch of callous bastards.

In all seriousness do you think it matters to bitch about it - especially this topic. It never ends.

The OP didn’t say anything about suing. However, it didn’t stop that tired ole horse from being dragged into the thread.
I hope your grand daughter has a full recovery, Penn is a great school. I can tell you are very proud of her.
Hopefully she won’t major in law, so she can represent people who want to sue everyone whenever they feel mistreated.
Merica!
