Default Tropical Storm Isaias

How is it for you guys? I’m watching the coverage on the weather channel and it doesn’t look bad at all.

Light drizzle and 10-15 mph wind gusts here on the treasure coast. The news overhyped it quite a bit.

Overcast, no rain, light winds if any on the Treasure Coast. Lucked out. No shutters this time around.

Shocking!

Actual storms far less powerful than forecast by the media. Only happens about 98% or 99% of the time.

A band of rain that looks (on radar) like it came from the storm just passed over SWFL.

Got lucky in Grand Bahama, winds East the south, diminishing south west. Quite a bit of freshwater flooding in some localized areas.
plenty rain.

It rained here for about 5 minutes. Then an hour later for about 10 minutes. Gave me a good excuse to stop working on the shed. Zero wind. Flags are literally hanging straight down.
Might go surf tonight if we get a weird pull from this.

The coverage on the Pluto tv weather channel is hilarious.

Just one guy standing outside, where it’s sunny. And he goes, “the winds are beginning to pick up here” looks to be about 15-20 mph winds lol

I get to come home to prepare for it. Whisky burgers which are my specialty. Blue moon with orange, GF makes breakfast I do the grill for dinner . Our Hurricane plan. Front porch living, Coastal Carolina style.

Didn't go back to Chicago got a load down into VA, then reloaded in Petersburg right to Elizabeth City. Ford trucks and we were talking about those on the other thread about ford.

Suppose to go behind us, should be down in the 40 mph range by the time it gets up here if it hits greenville NC as tracked right now, we'll see the rain but 40 mph will be about it. Good work excuse, nothing to see with this one.

Watching another one go whizzing by is fine with me. Little to no prep for this one. Andrew went over my head in 92. Never want to go through that again.

Covidcaine 2020, has turned out to be not much more than an overcast day. Bracing for disaster? More like bracing for another bowl of ice cream.

www.tropicaltidbits.com

Levi is one of the best hurricane meteorologists around. There's a little bit of assumed weather geek knowledge assumed of his audience, but he doesn't dumb down his information like TWC.

love this site. I feel actually explains the technical stuff in such a way a lay person can understand it, but then again, I am a weather geek, so maybe I assume too much. I just can't stand all the hype on TV about it. that one video a few years back where the guy was leaning into the wind like he was in a life and death struggle, when two guys walked calmly behind him shorts was the end of the line for me.

How about when they were standing in a drainage ditch with water up to their waist and someone walked behind them in about an inch of water not even up to their ankles? Or was that another channel? Only reason to watch is to see what fake news they will come up with next.

Really looking forward to all the rain, we need it here in eastern NC. I braced my two new freshly planted palms in case a gust gets above 20 or so. God luck to all.

Same here. Built the big fire pit out by the river decided to use crush and run it rained a couple of times while I was gone the last week or so settled it some but this rain will go ahead and flatten it out where I can start on the rest of it. Timing is everything. LOL
Plus I get a free get out of work card for a few more days. LOL Never anything wrong with that.

If it tracks like its showing its coming in left or west of Greenville small huricane not much size to this one the center winds won't be that far out from the middle i'm guessing 40 maybe 45 to 50 mph gues being on that right side of the end but to me it will still be a good front porch day, watching it rain. suprised the models have not showed any slowing in the wind speed from the time it hits wilmington till it gets up here. Usually land tears the thing apart quickly maybe its high and centered still don't think we will get much in EC. Wind should push the water out this time instead of in. Flooding is all I worry about and when its west of me water out. East of me water in. Not even going to move anything tomorrow. Worst case lights will go out , have to power things with the generator for a while. Grills ready I can still stay fat and happy.
