Default HOME REMEDIES

for a hangover....

I always drink the same thing throughout the night....makes for an easy cure the next day..

Before bed I take:

4 Excedrin and drink a bottle of water,

Then go to bed for 6-8 hours of sleep,

Get up, take 4 more Excedrin...2 cups of coffee and take a nap..get up after my nap and have a bite to eat, take another nap, get up and have dinner...then all's well with the world....

Beware of anything containing acetaminophen (active ingredient in Excedrin, Tylenol, etc.) for a hangover cure. Acetaminophen is metabolized in the liver and after a night of drinking your liver doesn't need to weather another chemical bombardment. Aspirin and Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) are metabolized in the kidneys and are better choices for hangover remedies. No, I'm not a doctor. I just derived the above info from our project nurse (whom I work with on a daily basis at my new job). Whenever a Craft worker comes in requesting OTC medication we have to ask them whether or not they drink alcohol regularly so we know what to give them.

The best remedy that I know....drink a liter or so of water before going to bed. True you may wake up with an urgent need to piss sometime in the night but at least it beats a headache and/or blowing chunks in the morning.
