Default Illegals to carry epirbs . . . disgusting!

This is unbelievable . . . in order to ensure safe passage into the USA the Mexican government will be providing epirbs to its citizens that might get lost or have other problems sneaking through our southern deserts.

Mexico offers satnav to illegals crossing into the US

Would-be illegal immigrants planning to cross the desert and enter the United States on foot are to be given hand-held satellite devices by the Mexican authorities to ensure they arrive safely.

Monday, January 01, 2007

Would-be illegal immigrants planning to cross the desert and enter the United States on foot are to be given hand-held satellite devices by the Mexican authorities to ensure they arrive safely.
Those who get lost or fall sick during the dangerous four-day crossing will be able to activate the device, to alert frontier police on both sides of the border.

The satellite tracking service will require would-be illegals to register their intentions before setting off - a paradoxical move, given that secrecy is necessary for success - but Mexican authorities are predicting that about 200,000 devices will be handed out when the project is launched formally in the coming year.

"Our intention is to save lives," said Jaime Obregon, the coordinator for the state commission for migrants in Puebla, the Mexican state which is behind the project. "There are lots of people looking to cross and we are working with the US authorities to make sure they do not die on the way."

Between 20 and 30 migrants succumb to hellish temperatures and insect bites while trying to cross into Arizona every year. Heat exhaustion sometimes causes short-term memory loss, with trekkers wandering into the desert.

The route into Arizona, known as the Sasave Pass, is both the most common and the most dangerous way into the United States. According to Mexican state migrant authorities, up to 75,000 try the crossing every month, of whom 50,000 to 60,000 are caught by US border patrols and sent back.

The chance of success depends greatly on the knowledge of the guide, known as a "coyote" or "desert fox." They charge US$2,000 (HK$15,600) to US$10,000 per person.

Coyotes are merciless if a member of their pack lags behind. "If you cannot keep up they will abandon you." Obregon said. "Alone, you have about 36 hours to live. It is in this period the satellite device makes a difference."

A spokesman for US Customs and Border Protection said: "We do not have any information about the Mexican government providing satellite trackers to people, but we strongly discourage encouragement to people who are attempting to cross illegally into the United States."

That's what I was thinking. Steal their EPIRB and put it in your boat. Plus if she's really pretty you can keep her for your concubine.

When the signal goes off we know exactly where to drop a MOAB. No problem.

Here's a photo of the "little" Daisy Cutter

And an illustration of the MOAB

I beleive either would be successful at thwarting illegal immigration

It’s an excellent idea to equip the illegal aliens with EPIRBs. If only our federal gov’t had the balls to bill Mexico for the cost every time we had to respond to an EPIRB blast from an illegal alien… That’s the best way to do it; no one dies, Mexico loses the cost of an EPIRB (we confiscate it), the illegal alien is returned to Mexico, and the Mexican gov’t would be forced to pick up the tab for the whole shebang.

Ain’t gonna happen ‘cause Shrub is actively trying to squander the US dollar in order to force the new Amero, combined currency for Canada, the US, and Mexico, down our throats.

Blast or Burst: Air Force Fact Sheets MOAB (Massive Ordnance Air Burst) More of this Feature • Air Force Fact Sheets Join the Discussion Visit Our Message Forum Related Resources • Military Weapons• Air Force Resources On 11 Mar 03, at about 1300 hours (1:00 PM), Eastern Time, the Air Force conducted the first full operational test of the MOAB (Massive Ordnance Air Burst) bomb, quite literally the largest non-nuclear bomb in the World. The test was conducted at Eglin Air Force Base, in Florida. The MOAB is designed to replace the BLU-82B "Daisy Cutter," which was used successfully in Vietnam for clearing thick jungle areas to create instant landing zones for Army Helicopters, and again during the Gulf War (where 11 Daisy Cutters were dropped from Special Operations C-130 aircraft), and again in Afghanistan.MOAB officially stands for "Massive Ordinance Air Burst," but many folks involved in the test program have begun referring to the weapon as "Mother of All Bombs." While the test was reported to be a success, it's too soon to tell if enough MOABs can be manufactured in time for use in any potential conflict with Iraq. However, there is no doubt that part of the reason for the timing of the test was to rattle nerves in Iraq. There is not yet much public information available about the MOAB. It weighs 21,500 pounds, compared to the 15,000 pound Daisy Cutter, and is the size of a small truck. Like the Daisy Cutter, the MOAB is designed to be dropped out of the back of a C-130 aircraft, but can possibly be dropped from a C-17 aircraft, as well. Unlike the Daisy Cutter, which is a free-fall (dumb) bomb, that descends attached to a parachute, the MOAB is a precision bomb guided by GPS (Global Position Satellite). After being pulled out of the cargo hold of the aircraft by a parachute, the parachute releases, and the GPS guides the bomb to the target destination. At a designated altitude, the MOAB sprays the area with a highly flammable mist, which is then ignited by a conventional explosive within the bomb. The results are a truly devastating explosion that can destroy tanks, buildings, and personnel in an area of several hundreds of meters.

After reading this article out of the UK, I had to double check its date to be sure it was not April 1st.

Not much in the article makes any sense. First, the cost of epirbs is very high, the Mexican govt. does not have the money to pay for them. Who is buying the 200,000 epirbs???

Second, it mentions that the coyotes charge $2,000 to $10,000 per person to cross the desert. Hard for me to believe that 75,000 per month pay that kind of money.. If a Mexican had that kind of money, he would not need to come to the USA, he would be considered rich by Mexican standards, and if he did want to come and had that kind of extra money, he could come here legally on a vacation, then never leave..

I just stood out in my yard for 2 hours with my EPIRB activated.

2 illegals, one Mexican Emabassy guy, and a Domino's driver showed up.

Sounds like there's not much to worry about, unless you are lost at sea.
