Re: Your Best of 2006
I got another puppy, got a new engine for the boat, got a new car, decided that I want to marry my girlfriend, and the number one best thing that happened was that my family successfully dealt with the death of my father(September 26th). We supported each other with amazing strength and love and we all learned how truly precious our lives and my father's life are/were.

Re: Your Best of 2006
Recovered from a prolonged back pain period with the help and support of my family and friends (including THTrs). In so doing have come to cherish relationships and my family even more, and I think they for the most part they have done the dame.

Now for 2007 I can resume my search for the perfect trailerable CC boat to fish and cruise with my friends and family in.

Re: Your Best of 2006
Well, the house is finished with all the needed repairs from Hurricanes of 2004, the gable ends siding was replaced this year...

My best friend of 20 years retired from the USN after a 30 year career, I was the guest speaker.

The Admiral and I were married for 33 years this year and closing in on 34.

Our Son moved back to Florida after living in Boston for 7 years, and had his first home built.

Last but not least....A very proud Mother & Father have announced the engagement of their Daughter to a wonderful young man, and yes, he did all the right things...he came to Dad & Mom and asked for her hand in marriage...

Wedding in late 07 or in the Spring of 08....

It was a very good year, no health issues for the Admiral or myself, the children are both doing fine....and retirement is only 5 years away now.

;) ;cool;

Re: Your Best of 2006
Three things in addition to having a healthy family, good friends and a nice place to call home.

First, my daughter Meghan... Then and now ((Birth on Jul 5th, 1 October & today)..

Second - being blessed (or lucky) enough to have Marti on my boat for a little bay fishng - what would turn out to be our last outing (Unfortunately, no pictures and I kick myself now for not taking any...)

Third, my STEP promotion to Master Sergeant on 15 December!

God Bless from the Reelworks!

Re: Your Best of 2006
It is indeed all about your families. Nothing else is close. Watch those children- spend every minute you can with them. They turn into adults before ya know it.
