Grammer

I'm no genius, but some of this drives me nuts.

It's not "I could care less" it's "I could not care less"
It's not "could of" or "should of" it's "could have" or "should have"

How many people don't understand the difference in sale and sell?

To, too, two
Their, there, they're

What drives you nuts?

Here I thought it was going to be a thread about Kelsey Grammar. So disappointed.

keithlinco 07-22-2020 05:00 PM

BTW I know its grammar. I'm not sure how that happened. But it's funny so f it.

Told you I'm not a genius.

cphilip 07-22-2020 05:01 PM

I could care less...

Spelling and grammar Nazis .

I like TO think my spelling and grammar are pretty good for someone who was expelled at 16 , but when I see people called out for it I just shake my head .

SquidsDusky 07-22-2020 05:10 PM

Do you throw your anchor rope over the gunnel or use a windless?

For the record I don't call anyone out. I just notice it. I agree, there's no reason to be a dick just to embarass someone. That's absolutely not the point of this.

People write/type all sorts of things that don't make sense unless correct words or grammar are implemented, some things are just wrong and make little difference, but can "bug" others (me) I can't believe that people don't know the difference between bring and take, there, their, they're, there's and there're get most confused, and then there's off of, or one that has become normal now is seen, where saw should be used. I guess most of it comes from texting, and actually writing has gone by the wayside.

Depends... are we fishing for strippers or marlings?

Guys who complain about grammar, but can't spell it.

Sadly, I'm never shocked when I see what our public schools have accomplished.
Fortunately though, there are a lot of really nice success stories as well.
Why? Because they had support at home and wanted the education.

Actually, I don't care. I've misspelled words, and try to correct them when I notice. Sometimes I don't notice.

Delduck 07-22-2020 05:22 PM

I admit my grammar is awful, it’s not a strong point. It also doesn’t bother me if someone corrects it. You need to, too, two, know your strong points and weaknesses to better yourself. In my opinion

Lemonbayboating 07-22-2020 05:25 PM

Honestly I believe you see more of it today because of auto correct on Iphones and other mobile platforms that either misspell or make it to where youth and others pay no attention anymore.

And honestly I have to deal with it all day and on hear I could care less I can type and see all the red underlines and I just hit post and move on as I am usually trying to put something up quickly and be done.

I miss my Grammer, she was a special Lady.

Lemonbayboating 07-22-2020 05:33 PM

LMAO lol

peacemon 07-22-2020 05:48 PM

The biggest typo on this site is someone trying to say your, and the "r" gets left off. I know they know how to spell it, it must just be a key that gets missed often.
I don't call people out for stuff like that most of the time unless they're being a jerk. Probably a few in this post but I have no degrees.
