Never date a girl with grammer problems. You'll be in trouble when she misses a period.

I'm not hung up on anything. I thought it was funny. I thought some folks would have a chuckle. A few have, but most seem to have taken this as a very serious topic. I'll be at the beach (shore for the northern crowd) tomorrow and, rest assured, the grammar on THT won't impact my weekend.

PS, it's come down TO the shore. I would be arrested if I "come down the shore."

Irregardless of what you think, proper English is important.

Yall notice something next time one of these threads pops up. Either its in the dead of winter or when most folks call to hot to be outside.
To much chair time. LOL

Growing up in South East NC farming worked with a lot of people that dropped out of school, but would work. Put a add in the paper two weeks ago knew I was going to landscape my whole yard, needing help with yard work where the 445 tractor could not reach. Paying cash, good money. Hard physical work. Had 8 folks answer the add, even double booked last Saturday. Not the first one made it the following morning after saying they would be here the night before. Finally got one boy to come in wed worked his ass off. I"ll use that boy again.

My uncle built a hell of a business. Foster Fuels centered in Brookneal VA. High school education only , extreamly smart man. . Yall in that area have probley fuled there, Brookneal lynchburg area, middle VA.

Smart and book sense are two totally different worlds. Know guys that own boats I drull over, they hit everything around them or have someone else get in on and off the trailer. Loads of money, not the first lick of common sense. LOL Docking. O MY GOD. Its run forrest run when they coming into a dock. LOL Guy not to far from me has a high end boat. Scares him to death to pull it behind his truck. He use to offer to take me for free if I would use my truck to get it to OI. Man is a millionaire x 2. Owns his own business. I"m sure he spells perfect.

For those that work on computers e mailing and texting in the business world all day long its important and its reconized. To you anyway. LOL Just never put yourself in a place you can't dig yourself out of. Thats one thing ver 10,000 that other person might make you look stupid at. Thats when it really hits home.

Somewhat in relation to the thread topic , have you ever listened to a recording of yourself speaking ?

Born and raised in central CT . In the time of telephone answering machines I got a good laugh . Phone rang and I thought I got it before the machine picked up . Had a conversation with a friend , left the house .

Come home a few hours later and there's a message . It had recorded that last call and I was a little shocked at how much of an accent I have . It sounded like we were planning a hit on someone...

And Unga Bunga just below me mentioned something have you ever listened to a recording of yourself. East of I 95 in Carolina we have our own way of talking, we all understand each other just fine, and you can believe it tickles us for someone to pick at us about it. Especially when they move in and are still getting use to it. Me with my traveling especially in Calif people would stop, smart smiling ask me where I was from. Like my signature, Yall come now,,, ya hear. I"m ate up with the Carolina slang. Don't bother me , everyone is Around here. ( Thats another word we leave the A off it in this area.) I do the shit most of you won't do and has to do with personal image , like riding a stuff tiger on the back of a totally tricked out custom built Harley thats in built to the gill. Have a lot more power on that bike than 98% thats another image some love to have in the Harley world I'm not fond of. . 100 outside whole crowd I ride with has big Harley boots, jeans, playing the part I'm in shorts, white sneekers. and a beach fishing shirt. If its crazy and off the wall, I'm in.!! We call it a hoot here in Carolina. Someone that has not done to shabby is a nut and damn sure does their own thing.
Funny but have any of you seen one person mentioned phone ver typing on a computer. ? Big hands tiny keyboard, Hell I got to resend shit sometimes I can't even read it. LOL Its all fun and funny to me but some have their panties in such a wad it offends them . Were really starting to understand those folks just coming out the closet that everything offends them now days arn't we. YEP, same bunch just want everything or think eveything should be just like they think it should be. Bless their hearts. LOL and Yall know what that means in Carolina right? LOL Iffins, show nuffs, pert near, round instead of around, all those words that drive those offended office type of folks nuts is our daily language "round" here. Think about something. Would me talking different cause me to catch less fish? Don't put money on it buddy. All I got to say. If your car quits, most on here know me, I'm sure you would not mind me under your hood!! might be a chance I'll get us going on your boat to if that same issues "rears its head" Most boring job in the world to me is one you have to show up to the same office or place every day, clock in doing the same thing day after day, and having to deal with others when it drives you crazy some can't spell in the e mails your getting. When they,,,, "Rear their head" I don't get offended I get tickled. You ever go to a boat landing in the city and watch those folks back? Va Beach comes to mind. I've gotten out offered to help and they were tickled to death to let me. Got that deer in the head light look about them stick a fork in them, their done. Been done. I was their knight in shinning armor. LOL
Its not that they ain't smart they just don't know how to do a whole lot of things. AKA don't catch on quick to things most of us get in one or two times stuff they don't do on a daily basis. Call them cubicle or office folks. So sometime the hunter becomes the hunted when that shoe is on that other foot and folks sure have a way of stepping in it and that shit don't shake off easy. LOL
Lord knows I could go on and on about stuff like why folks move into HOAs then bitch, cry about city taxes and shit going on in their city yet where they living. LMAO.
Just cause someone knows where to put a period, don't make you a smart person. Especially when you come out that cubicle or office and have to be "round" us other folks that now get to watch you back and dock that boat. . LOL
Be nice to everyone. Its a show nuff way to win at everything and you don't end up looking like the fool at everything else. .

No I beg to differ with you, you are obviously VERY hung up on diction. Well have at it.... the net is filled with butchered words spellings bad punctuiation, abbreviations & trash. Somebody has to keep those people in line might as well be you. And while your (lol) at it go over to twitter and teach them too! Here's an example

CHER- trump HAS ACCESS 2 EVERY MASK,SHIELD, GOWN,GLOVE, BED,VENTiLATOR,RESPIRATOR, TEST KIT,NATIONAL GUARDSMAN,SOLDIER FROM ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS , NURSES,DR.’S,TECHS,1ST RESPONDERS NEEDED 2 SAVE THE LIVES OF CORONAVIRUS PATIENTS,& CAREGIVERS.trump IS A LIAR,& MURDERER.🇺🇸OPEN URὄ

A study

People Who Constantly Point Out Grammar Mistakes Are Pretty Much Jerks, Scientists Find

Scientists have found that people who constantly get bothered by grammatical errors online have "less agreeable" personalities than those who just let them slide.

And those friends who are super-sensitive to typos on your Facebook page? Psychological testing reveals they're generally less open, and are also more likely to be judging you for your mistakes than everyone else.In other words, they're exactly who you thought they were.
And that's the nice part of their evaluation!!

I need a little help on Yankee grammar. Yous guys like to ask a question and the last word in the question is “no”. Officially, per the calendar today is Friday July 24.

A yankee would ask “ Today is Friday July 24,no? How do I answer a question posed that way. Do I answer “no” since the “no” at the end of the question is wrong? In math a double negative is positive so a no answer by me to a question that ends in no, is yes that date is correct

Or do I ignore the “no” at the end of the question and just assume they like to learn themselves talk? When I answer yes, I am afraid I am confirming the “no” at the end of the question is confirmed and it is not the correct date

I will close by saying this is a great thread, no?
