Grammar when talking and I couldn't care less. When writing confusing "you're" with "your" or vice versa is a problem. Especially if your job requires written communication.

Grammar, spelling and punctuation are important as some sentences can mean completely different things if not done correctly.

I helped my uncle jack off a horse. I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse.
Some of my favorite things are eating children and cats. Some of my favorite things are; eating, children and cats.

The internet is not a school exam so the nazis can relax with calling out the erros. We know what the poster means even if it comes out funny if read literally.

I've done one of these and have seen another. Either way the horse is very happy.

Who could care on an open forum about proper grammar? Maybe go to an English grammar forum. I make some mistakes in grammar and stuff like see, saw, seen but I don’t care enough to go back and correct it.

A lot of grammar nazi’s on THT.

Not that you did it but the other day I left a repsonse on another post on here.A lot of people got a laugh from how I wrote my post, what some do not know was I just came in from my shop that the air temp was 105 plus the heat index and was trying to write it real quick while I was cooling off.I guess some just love looking at how some write something real quick so they can point it out, while thats just fine with me.I just think its funny some people just need to do it to make them feel good about themselves, not saying that you are doing that here just that some feel the need to do it.

I may be in the minority in this but I really appreciate people pointing out grammar mistakes on here, especially if I made them. It's much easier to pick up some spelling and grammar talking about boats than it is from a book. Then again, I also really wish I had paid more attention to writing in school. Instead, I buried my lack of spelling and grammar skills in messy handwriting. That stopped working about the time I started. It's not good when other people can see that you don't know what your saying before you say anything.

I'm particular about my grammar, but I'm not critical of others. As long as I can understand what their message is, I'm good.

With one exception. When grown men spell "brakes" (referring to the mechanism that slows down a car) as "breaks", that drives me crazy. Lol.

Seriously, if you spell brakes as breaks, you're wife wears the pants in your household. Put on an apron, cook, clean, and do the laundry and let your wife do the manly chores around the house.

I think there is a difference between poor grammar and just typing too quickly. Where I used to live they no longer teach cursive handwriting, where I live now they do, there are spelling tests and students lose marks for poor grammar or terrible handwriting. As long as I understand, i´m fine with it, there are differences from region to region also. What really does make me mad is when people cannot do the most simple mental arithmetic, 20% off marked prices, they get phones out or simply cannot understand it, or add tax in their head, the ones that really get me though is the supermarket checkouts, an example, the bill was 19.70, so you give 20.20, just get a 50 cent coin back, the teller looks at you as though you asked them for the atomic properties of mercury!!! Kids should play darts, that teaches metal arithmetic, or work in a bar like I did when I was young to earn some extra cash, with old fashioned tills where it was faster to add it all up in you head. Gotta be on top of the numbers, especially when it´s in your favour.

But it want be! LOL That's one that bothers me. "Want" in place of "won't".

My personal problem is using ; in place of ' . For some unexplained reason, my finger is always one position off on the keyboard.
