Default Drones over the house

I am both a little pissed and concerned..

My neighbor sent me a text that a drone was hovering over my house for almost 5 minutes... Now I have to wonder what or who the F k is wanting to watch my house...

could be someone relatively local who just got it and learning to fly (but why cant they use a park, or their own house to hover over?)

could be someone being a hi tech peeping tom, or looking for shit to steal

could be "them"...... what have you done to draw the attention of "them"?

Was on a job on Duck Key recently and had one hover around the house for at least that long . Turns out that it was an insurance company checking the house for some reason. Maybe a possibility ? I was told that the building dept./ code enforcement cannot fly over your house to check things , but that could be up to each municipality. Hope you. can figure it out , that would drive me crazy !

Your friend doesn't know the law.

My guess is that it's a neighbor flying a drone and practicing. Nearly all consumer drones are wide angle lens, so you can see almost no detail in your back yard, especially if you have some trees. I'd follow it, see where it lands (they can only fly 30-35 minutes unless it's a really high end one and just ask your neighbor. You know...talk to people!

FBI, internal affairs, PI, jealous husband, jealous wife.... I had one in my back yard today... I tracked the pilot down and asked questions. New home owners looking at property lines.

Can you cast a 1oz weight with braid, I'm sure that would take it out.

Could be real estate sunset/golden hour drone pic. If it is over your house, it likely isn't shooting your house. When I photograph houses, my drone is usually 2-4 houses away.

A co-worker with an injury retirement case is being surveilled this way, he has seen the photos because the investigators emailed the wrong person for a positive I.D..

I am not going argue with you but if someone is referred to as a PILOT that seems someone better have some license or schools..

BTW, the information about flying a drone out of line of dight was gathered from a Commercial drone operator, so I think he may know more than you but Thanks

Drfinitely NOT in any trouble (FBI, IA or anything similar) and jealous whoever is out also. LOL

Most concerned about someone surveilling for nefarious reasons..
