Window shopping today(Guns)

I'm in Minnesota today for the holiday weekend, thought I'd check out a local Cabela's. I like the 686 but have to have it shipped to FL to a local dealer. Pondering the idea.

I have the exact 686. You will love it! Trigger is amazing. Buy it.

$1285 for the competitor

Which one?

Iím a revolver guy myself.
(was a big S&W & Colt fan...mostly classic wheelguns, 686, 586, 27, 28, etc)
But nothing compares to the Classic, hand-fitted old-school Python, imho.:)

1967 Colt Python 357 mag.

I love Cabela's but you can almost always find a gun cheaper elsewhere. If you do stick w/them, they should be able to ship to your local BassPro and you can do the transaction there.

I thought there was a S&W 357 round gun for around $450? Is that a different model?

Yes, its a competitor model where the barrel is weighted.

Go look at the revolvers in the high end room in Rodgers MN, some great guns!

OffshoreApparel.com 07-02-2020 02:48 PM

Maybe it's just me, but for that kind of coin. I could think of many, many better ways to spend it.

At least these guns usually go up in price after a few years.

The 67 Nickel will definitely be an Heirloom. (lettered and confirmed with Colt Archives)
The blued one in the bottom is a user/ shooter. :)

Prices are really high right now with everything going on. Not buying the gun today.

Always, always check prices at gunsmidwest.

futi45 07-02-2020 04:12 PM

Iíd rather pay a little to much and get what I want than pay too little and be disappointed. 686 is a fine gun. I donít think gun prices and availability will stabilize until at least after the election and then who knows could be a year or two.

Looking at Budsgunshop.com you would be hard pressed to find any .38 under $475 at this time.
