I got a email forwarded to me from my supplier. It came directly from the pressure treat company.
It basically said to prepare for a three month + shortage due to their shut down & lack of product availability from the southern yellow pine mills.
The email went on further to say to expect a shortage of composite decking Chinese (CRAP) nails, etc
It should be a interesting future quoting jobs!

Last week our Home Depot had just about 100% cleared their shelves of the PT lumber....all sizes. I don't do the Lowes thing for lumber, to crappy.
But I was there yesterday again and the shelves are filled once again. It's good because I have projects on the go.

Other of our ma an paps lumber yards there was no shortage.

PT lumber prices out the roof. As we were walking through HD yesterday commented to my wife that gold was cheaper.

Everything is going to be a lot more expensive...Supply and Demand!! Everyone will get used to paying a premium for stuff ,the supply will come back ..BUT prices won't drop!!

I'm building my kids a swing set and needed a few posts last weekend at HD. They were almost cleared out. Wouldn't be surprised if its all gone now.

Just signed a contract to replace the dock and boat house at my place in Texas. Contractor did mention that there is a really big run on supplies, usual order is 70 tickets per day for material, is up to 220 tickets a day since the covid stuff.

My dock is being built by the same guys that built my neighbors, although my slips are a little bigger, the price is up considerably over what he paid a couple years ago.

Have a friend that just signed a contract to build a new house with an escalation clause for the cost of lumber if it increases. Crazy times we live in.

You're not too far from me in Gloucester. Fary Brothers still has a pretty good supply. They get most of their PT from directly from Pitts. Sometimes they Pitts treat lumber that already have, especially in the 18'+ length stuff.
