Default How's everyone's 401K doing?

Just checked mine this morning.

Up 16% for the year.

How did everyone else do this year?

I would suggest adding your allocation to equities with the return. There will be a lot of variation this year based on asset allocation. Foreign markets were also very strong.

My account is up 20.39% through yesterday. It is 100% in stocks, 70% domestic, 30% overseas. I am 46 years old and "in the business".

401k at work is up slightly over 10%. I am invested very conservatively.

The investments I have with my financial planner are up 23%.

Only 11.5% this year because I pulled everything into stable value stuff for a few months. Since Jan 2005 up 27.77% though.

Not a 401K, but a SEP. Up 12%. Not as good as my gung ho real estate days, but better than the NASDAQ slam of 2000...

I would call you very smart. We live in a global economy. Dumb, really dumb to get all patriotic about any fiat currency, even the US dollar.

Yea, its been a buyers market the past couple of months. Being the nervous type, I cashed out last May. Then I jumped back in over the past 45 days, and feel pretty comfortable with what I'm into this go around.

"Liquidity" is currently defined as what happens to your underwear when you read your 401k statements.

I haven't look at my 401k statement in months......why should I? I have been invested in gov't bonds and short term money markets for years and years......I am probably up a few points in the last year due to interest income.
