Good thing they didn’t kill a white marlin today! In all seriousness I’m glad he’s able to enjoy the tournament. Looked relaxed and seems the big rock staff is being very respectful to his popularity and keeping it as close lipped as possible

I would guess that he can't run the boat, rig the spread, clean the boat etc. I admire what he has done in his arena but having the bankroll to fish this type of tourney does not make him a fisherman. The crew caught the fish.

He gave 100 million to BLM this week too. Unreal how much money he has.

little sad they keep killing these 490lb marlins tho. Wish they could grow up and get caught when they are 800lbs

I would guess that as rich as he is he prob does not give two shits about what he cannot do in life. He just does whatever the hell he wants.

Good on him. I just wonder why he is not in a custom “Carolina” built boat.

Very disturbing that anybody still has kill tournaments. I guess the cave men among us have to find something to do.

I would guess that he at least tries to get in on everything like the rigging, baiting, running the boat and all that other stuff even if he is not successful at it. I mean, look at what he had done with the Charlotte Hornets. That hasn't dissuaded him from continuing to try.

I'd be willing to bet we'd all be surprised at how many of these boat owners aren't really any good at fishing. Can they run the boat, rig the lines, clean the deck, etc.? Probably not. But that's why they pay a captain and crew to do all of that for them. They just bankroll everything and sit back and enjoy life, catch fish or watch people on their boat catch fish, smoke cigars, drink rum, compete in tournaments....I don't knock MJ one single bit for doing what he's doing. He's in it for likely the same reasons a lot of those boat owners are in it for.

Fun.

Jordan fished this tournament last year. His participation is well known. While they don't run ads saying 'Come fish with Mike'...they aren't hiding it either! I did hear that they kept his boat in an exclusive area so he wasn't subject to walk byes.

PS Do you think he covered all the calcuttas??
