Default Most amazing picture ever!

And gets the brain churning...

The Hubble Ultra Deep Field photo. A picture of a very small section of our "sky" that shows about 10,000 GALAXIES. 10,000 galaxies! How many stars is that? Our galaxy, the Milky Way is estimated to hold 100 - 400 BILLION stars. So how many stars in 10,000 galaxies? And that's just a little section of our "sky". How many planets orbiting around all those stars? The numbers just get mind boggling.

Very interesting. Think about this....

To get to the closest galaxy to ours, the Canis Major Dwarf, at Voyager's speed, it would take approximately 749,000,000 years to travel the distance of 25,000 light years! If we could travel at the speed of light, it would still take 25,000 years

Think of all of those stars and planets. There has to be every type of life out there. I even bet you the three boob chick from Total Recall is out there in one of those stars.

Some estimate there are 10 trillion galaxies in our universe...and an estimate 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars. Thats 1 X10 to the 25th power. Give or take a few hundred trillion.

If you ask me another big Q is how many stars can be seen by naked eyes from earth? Supposedly 6 to 7 thousand

The deep field images have fascinated me for years.

This is another. It is of every person that is alive or has ever lived minus 1.

The Universe is so vast there has to be other life and perhaps a lot of habitable planets.

The 1000’s of light year to get there is what will keep them apart most likely for infinity.

It is simply unimaginable that any society of higher intelligence could ever exist long enough to find a way to travel to the next inhabited planet.
