Best decision you ever made

We often see somone quoted as saying "It was the best decision I have ever made". Looking back at everything you've done and every decision you have made, what is the all time "Best Decision" you have ever made? Only one answer please.

A little personal, but deciding to seek medical advice for adult ADHD. I have been taking medication for 2 years and the difference is incredible. It has helped me to focus on the big picture much better which led to selling a large part of my business to focus on the part I enjoy and is more profitable. There is no way I would have pulled this off.

Forgot to include my own. Without a doubt the one thing which has had the most positive impact on my life and was without a doubt the best decision I ever could have made was to marry my wife.

I have several..

1. To join the Air Force, I have almost 18 years in now and closing in on retirement #1.. Joining the Air Force brought me an assignment to San Antonio which leads to #2

2. Met the woman of my dreams, Caroline. She's definitely a keeper and the mother of my daughter who we are truly blessed to have..

While visiting the University I graduated from, looking for help in getting a job, I went to see one of my old professors. I knocked on his door once but got no answer. I started walking away when something told me to go back an knock harder. I did and my prof answered the door...though he looked really pissed until he recognized me. To make a long story short, had I not knocked the second time I would never have gotten the job I'm going to start on the 18th. I think God had something to do with that.

Best decision I have ever made was to ask my current wife to marry me over 41 years ago. We have been married over 41 years and have been best friends for longer than that.

My best decisions are all the times I decided to NOT do what I was thinking about trying.

Getting divorced from my first wife and her never-ending abuse. With 3 little kids, it was a tough decision, but it saved my own life. (Yes, all 3 kids turned out just fine, thank you.) That was over 40 years ago.

And, I've been married to the same gal for the past 35 years now. SHE was the one who came from the boating family and got us into boating as soon as we got married in 1971!

There has got to be something to be said about that favorite professor. I am very luck in that I can say I look up to my father first and foremost, and to my two grandfathers second, but equally. My favorite professor from Clemson is a very close 4'th. He is the one who I turn to on a regular basis to talk about baseball, fishing, or to generally have fun with.

This guy is the biggest jackass there ever was in class, but the one thing he does his make his students think. I had him for several classes. two of which he basically taught nothing from the textbook, yet I learned more that anything else I have ever seen. Still to this day I call him up just to talk about nothing, and about everything all at the same time.

Sell my main business (with 19 employees)... I was actually worried I would miss the action
That was in '95.. My old GF used to say "He's got it all wrong, works 5 to 9, not 9 to 5" She was oh so right! Life is too short!
I still put in 40 hours, every single month
