Default Boat market update

Put boat on boat trader last wed and had over a dozen calls and several offers and just received deposit for boat at near list price. If I felt like holding out I was planning on raising the price as I was getting so much interest.

i guess the economy isnít affecting some people.

My marina has at least 2 calls a day from people looking for slips or rack space. Many first time boaters. No vacation, no school, no college. Nothing to do so they get a boat. Wacky times

I've been looking at used boats. They seem to be selling well. Every time I find one that looks like its priced right it does not last.

My friend just sold his boat. It was on the market for a year. Took it off a few months ago, and just put it on craigslist and sold the first day.

I did it because I got within $2000 of what I was asking so I figured A bird in the hand.... I am just trying to give some intel to the forum, what boat have you purchased recently?

Trade only today has good info for the boating industry; March sales were down quite a bit from the prior March and they also look at new boater registration numbers and break it down by category : Large yachts got hit the hardest time

Man, good to hear. It sure does seem to me, that the prices are insanely high, and they are selling. Just don't get it. I would love a 27-29cc that is less than 100k, as I would sell my existing boat (have a few folks emailed me) but, man, for what you get , it just doesn't make sense. Folks are asking, and I guess getting, stupid money for a POS. Headed to the Keys for a week, in about a month. Would love to be trailering something bigger, but at the moment, I just can NOT justify it.

A few feet more, for over double the price? Nuts.

Sold mine a month ago and have looked nationwide for a replacement. Prices are stupid right now and reasonable deals are gone in a day or two. Iíve looked at some 07ís priced higher than I sold the exact same boat for 7-8 years ago. First time Iíve been into June without a boat in a long time. Before long Iíll probably do something stupid.

Or maybe the family that was going to travel for a summer vacation decided to spend the vacation money on a down payment for a boat instead. I don't think people on unemployment are buying boats. They wouldn't be approved for financing.

A guy told me today one of his customers put his boat on FB and sold in minutes. Also had a first time buyer get a 320 pursuit, first boat. Had to get it as equipped, no time to order. Full list
.

The lower end stuff doing well but higher prices boats slow. Half of the top 1% holding off on large purchases nationally which is why you see old contender regulators sub 100k moving and newer 3-500k CC slower to move.
There were deals in March April I.e. couple cv 32 unicorns under 150
