On the one hand the police were in plain clothes and didn't announce their presence/intent (according to the victim POV)
Boyfriend of victim shoots at the dudes coming in looking like a home invasion.
Police return fire (blindly) into the apartment.
What a fark-up.

This seems to happen too often. If they announce themselves as Police, I think things would go better.

there is still the issue of criminals announcing they are the police, but I think it would help.

Put them, and the judge who signed the no knock warrant under the jail...or in front of a firing squad...doesn't matter to me which.

They should mandatory. Smells a bit fishy.

The war on drugs claims another innocent victim.

No knock raids are always disasters waiting to happen. All too often they are conducted early in the morning or in the dark.
And body cams should be mandatory in these situations.
Bad news all around.

I can't think of very many reasons why we actually have them...should be illegal...hell, they probably are, but the judges look the other way.

i think we should hear both sides of the story and all of the evidence before jumping the gun!

if it is truely botched, then appropriate actions should be taken!

What a fark-up.
Not to mention they were "looking for a suspect who lived in a different part of the city and was already in police custody."

Earlier article has a different slant:

https://www.wave3.com/2020/03/27/jud...ion-weeks-ago/

Obviously, their lawyer is pushing the BLM racism angle, and that is probably a successful strategy, but it's unlikely race played a factor, see Houston:

https://nypost.com/2019/11/29/a-fals...nnocents-dead/

Regardless, this sh!t needs to stop and judges and no-knock units need to be accountable as criminal accomplices instead of just shrugging and passing massive civil awards onto taxpayers.

The same suspect was allegedly seen leaving the victim's house with a package previously, according to one report. LEO says they announced who they were upon entering. Victim's BF say no. Who knows? Hopefully the real truth comes out. Maybe the BF had connections to the suspect. Lots of maybe's here.

Why would you want to give the Police total control of the narrative?.

Why not stake out the house and arrest them out on the street. Or at work. Then go in the vacant apartment and do the search per the warrant.

This 5am no-knock plain clothes crap is BS.
