Default Anyone have a Land Rover?

Wife thinks she wants one. I know they used to not get good ratings, especially for dependability, didn't know if that has changed.

I have a 2017 diesel full size..... Absolutely love it .... No issues and 30 MPG average ....

Also have several friends with newer RR Sports and Full size gassers - no issues...

Electronics still less that desirable ... but you learn to live with it - plus they have apple play now so use Waze for navigation ..

Wife had a '16 full size that I did like until there was a big issue. She now has a '18 Sport and my daughter has a '20 Discovery. Not just me but they are at the dealer more than my other vehicles.

Her Sport is also a diesel seems sluggish so I drive it hard. Also need to change the DEF every 5K miles. Oil change every year or the warranty voids.

They are owned by Tata Motors, based in India. They the largest automobile manufacturer in India and are noted for making trucks and buses too. Land Rovers look great. People with newer ones like them.

You should have gotten the Supercharged .... Sounds like you have a heavy foot

if you think the RRS is a slug - come drive mine .. heavier - slow ... but I cruise just fine on the highway at 75 - just takes 2 minutes to get to speed

I am not sure it relates to the diesel, but I had a Disco II with the 4.0. I absolutely loved it but it ate head gaskets and sleeves.

I had 4 rovers... every one of them was more unreliable than any vehicle I've owned (except for the X5) out of over 30. With that said... the 4 of them all rank in the top 10 for my most favorite cars I've owned. Something about the way they drive, the seating position, and the smell (as weird as that sounds). I haven't owned one for a few years now, and the last one was an old Defender 110... but I'd consider one again as long as they keep depreciating the way they do. In a million years though, I'd never buy one new. Never. Never ever. (I'm too cheap).

I too am looking for pre owned, just the few responses here make me gun shy. I would rather talk her into a Toyota Landcruiser if we're already looking at spending that kind of money. I wish she liked the 4 runner, I still think that is one of the best value in a vehicle.

Land Rover = will take you anywhere.
Toyota = will take you anywhere AND get you home.

If it will just stay on the pavement then it doesn’t matter as much, just get AAA.

I sold my 2008 land Cruiser to buy the Range Rover.... The LC was great ... FYI - New LC model should be out in 2021 ..

Will be taking a close look at the LC and LX (Lexus) .. Had the LX570 also and that was a great SUV
