Don't forget a good shotgun to top off your arsenal.

Get some co-witness flip up sights, just in case the red dot gets smashed when you need it most.

For flip up sights, the magpuls do as well as anything and they're cheap.

For lights, my preference is the surefire x300u, mounted at 12 o'clock.

I see a lot of malfunctions generated by extended bolt releases and do not recommend them.

Yeah the cheap magpul flip ups definitely get the job done.

Nice, really like the 308 rifle... A good pump shotgun will round out your start...also look at getting a Glock (it is expected I say that here)..

what are you talking about? We have left the bunker in months! /sarcasm

seriously though- 4 people in a 1300sqft house is wearing thin

No Glocks for me. I have had a Model 22 and it was "ok" I haven't shot the USP, but I think I like it better.

I think the 9mm will be my carry.

I want a Mossberg Mariner, but they are hard to find.

I like the HK 45 but the 9 is my workhorse. The Kimber is for going out dressed up and the 380 Sig is when the weather is warm.

Care to explain this sling configuration?
Just throw it on there for pics or do you actually run it like that?

What I love is that some people have gone out to buy firearms only to learn that they can only buy 1 a month.
I go into gun shops and don't see anything that I even want. I can get an off the wall caliber here or there but I've got everything else pretty much covered.

As for the OP. A tactical shotgun is a necessity. We keep a couple on station in the house.

I think you will like the USP. The USP 9mm da/sa variant was my first handgun I purchased when I turned 21 long ago. I have put thousands of rounds through that H&K and still accurate and never had a hiccup, ever. Unfortunately I dropped it overboard yesterday and no longer have it ;-)

Sorry to hear that you lost such a great handgun. Message to the rest of us, handguns such as the USP have an attachment point for a lanyard, consider using one.

Has anyone tried the Remington Versamax? Looks pretty sweet. Gets good reviews on YouTube. Always a few people who don’t like them.
