Default La-Z-Boy Recliners - Still Good Quality?

My old La-Z-Boy recliner is finally worn out. I had it for about 25 years, got it used. Sat in it every day. Very comfortable. Well-built. Been wanting to get a new one for a while, but never got around to it. I've had other brands of cheap recliners from Walmart or whereever, but they just were not comfortable. Now, when I really need a new one - all the furniture stores are closed! Could buy on-line, but what if it doesn't "fit" me? Anyone know if they are still a "good" brand? Still well-made and comfortable? I don't want to feel boards or springs under the padding.

I will be having shoulder surgery soon, and I will be sleeping in the recliner for about a month.

Regarding my old one. I was visiting my uncle in NJ back around 1995. He asked if I wanted that recliner sitting on his neighbor's porch. I sat in it, and loved it. Looked new. Loaded into my van and THEN he told me that the old man who lived there had died in that chair! Nobody else wanted it. Oh well - I already had it loaded, so why not?

Sub'd as the wife is also getting ready to have a second rotator cuff surgery and we are in the market for a recliner as well. It's the only way to sleep after shoulder surgery, at least for both of us it was.

Don't buy Lane. We bought that as cheaper to La-z-boy maybe 15 years ago. Lousy quality.

I would ask the company. https://mobile.la-z-boy.com/mobile/c...ade-in-america

I still like my LazBoy chairs but they are not your daddy's Lazboy. I usually end up fixing them after they stop honoring the warranty. I am getting pretty good at it.

Lazyboy stores are worse than going to a used car lot.
Do NOT give the salesman your phone number!

As I type this I'm sitting in a close to 35 year old LZ Boy. It was professionally cleaned 5 yrs ago. I bought two new LZ Boys for my house on the water last year. There is No Comparison. The old timer is as good as the day purchased.

I had a Lazy Boy prior to the current recliner. It was a POS and I'd never but another.

After doing the obligatory endless research I ended up going with Palliser. Not ultra high end but definitely better than most of the crap you find in the typical furniture store. You can choose the features you want and the grade/color of leather, foam type, to fit your budget. In my case I ended up spending $1200.

I have to say, this is the best recliner I have ever owned and would buy it again in a heart beat. One thing I would change that I didn't get would be the electric reclining mechanism. I went with the standard mechanical mechanism.

I ordered thru these guys and they were stellar from start to finish. Our local specialty furniture store wanted $2,400 to order the same recliner and they weren't budging. So much for buying local.

No, theu are uncomfortable and shit quality.

I am currently sitting on a 2.5 year old piece of shit La z Boy recliner. It is falling apart already.

It squeeks when you rock it. The material is piling on the arm rests. The recliner is too loose it reclines way too easily now. Tried to tighten the springs and they are held by a cheap ass pot metal junk contraption thay doesn't let it tighten anymore.

I wish I would have just kept my 25 year old recliner. It was way better made, more comfy etc.

This new La Z Boy sucks and it was around 875.00. Complete ripoff for complete junk furniture.

They make them about a quarter mile from my work- they are ok recliners, but as others have stated, they damn sure aint what they used to be.
