Default New Rules for Rhode Island

Hey guys. Just saw this posted and it kinda makes me wonder. I am technically not a RI resident. My boat, truck, and official mailing address is in NH. I do own a house in RI. Off grid summer house on an island in Narragansett Bay. According to this I can not fish in RI, even from my own boat, alone, launched from my own dock, on a secluded island. The way I read it, I'm not even sure they're going to want me to launch my boat and drive to the island. Anyone have an opinion, or any Rhode Islanders have more information about this???

There are laws.

And then there are laws that are actively enforced.

This is true. I won't be going to open the house up for another few weeks, but I just wonder if I'd get hassled. I would consider myself a resident, but I have zero proof that I "live" there. I just wonder what would happen if I left an out of state truck with a boat trailer at the launch for a week.

Our governor also said if your cross state lines to go shopping you must quarantine for 14 days....moronic logic....she is getting a little to power hungry

read it as it is, don't over think it.

unfortunately it is what it is. however if you're planning on coming down for the summer to Jtown or prudence, quarantine for the 14 days and then do as you please.

The quarantine thing is no problem at all. That is why that place exists! Its on an island that is pretty much vacant until after memorial day. No connection to the mainland. When I go to open it's a guys weekend and we usually have the whole island to ourselves. But can I be considered a resident? I do own property there...

same issue as all the SK and 'gansett summer residents who are from NY... there isn't a check point on 95s or 146s like there is on 95n...

if stopped for the out of state reason just say you're opening up your summer house, turning on the water, cable guy, whatever. you're fine. should you feel the need to bring your tax bill with you, so be it. it's working in your favor, not against you but it's not necessary.

What I'm seeing is that if my house was on the mainland and I didn't have to use a boat to get there, that I could come and go as I please, as long as I quarantine for 14 days. (not a problem) but its the use of the boat to get there that trips me up. I keep thinking "they cant be that ridiculous" but then I realize that everything is ridiculous right now. lol

all the ramps are closed. Only exception is commercial fishing. Warwick has a patrol car at Oakland beach ramp

no, only the ramps in state parks are closed.

the WPD is more than likely making sure your a RI resident to use the ramp.

Wilson park and PJ are open

not sure because I was across the way at harbor lights. There is a sign though that reads “commercial use only” and there is two parking spots available.

So you disagree with the southerners wanting to keep Yankees out? Same basic thing. IMO the less moving about the better right now. Besides, there's no way to enforce those dictums.

Radio interviewing a source today reported that this social distancing may extend to early 2022.

Year and a half vaccination development will be a universe setting record.
