Coolest cat ever!

Not a lot of love for cats on this board, so I hesitated to post this.
Meet Pablo. He lived on the street in Beaufort, NC, for the first 18mo of his life, part of the catch-and-release neuter program to control the feral cat population, until one night he decided he wanted a better life. He was walking down the middle of the street, deathly ill, and we rescued him. He leaped into my wife’s arms and we took him home, intending to re-home him. He had other ideas.
Pablo was nursed back to health by our wonderful vet. He never grew to the size of a full grown cat, due to early malnutrition. Unlike our other cats, though, Pablo lived his life at full throttle. He followed my wife around the house, met us at the door for attention, and would play with every toy he could find. He played “fetch” with small foam balls. I called him “a dog in a cat suit.” He played all the time with our other cats and our dog. Sometimes it seemed like they were annoyed that he would not sit still.
Pablo was extremely affectionate, and loved to be cuddled and petted. This was completely unexpected for a “feral” cat. He would wake me up in the early morning to play or get attention. He never met a stranger, and even people who don’t like cats wanted to take him home. Our vet called him “Mr. Personality,” and that name fit him perfectly.
Tragically, Pablo aspirated a piece of cat food and died in my wife’s arms early in the morning of March 27th, despite our efforts and those of a nearby emergency vet (5 minutes from the house) to save him.
We had Pablo for almost five years, which is not nearly enough. Now all we have is his cremated remains and a lot of pictures and memories. The pic above was taken a day before he passed. The house now seems so empty without our little guy.

Cherish your pets. They are truly the finest examples of unconditional love.

Sorry for your loss. Didn’t read through the entire thing. Just saw a cute cat pic. Animals are mans best friend that god gives us so we’re not ever alone on this earth and so we always have a friend. Loosing a friend is never easy and it’s not something we forget. You were a great friend!

So sorry to hear about Pablo. Story reminds me of our Chrissy. Wife rescued her in 06, she had an eye removed because of an infection. She was the sweetest little kitty ever. The Vet said she probably wouldn't live long , But we had each other for 12 years. She was a member of the family.

We have two cats both rescues and they are phenomenal. My big blackcat meets me at the door when I come home and follows me around the house like a dog. The little siamese mix has something to say about everything and she runs the house.
Sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear....we too have had a number of cats and while I like dogs, cats are just easier/better to deal with. Ours too will play "fetch" and even come running when called by name.

I had cats for 27 years straight . The first was an outdoor badass . Fighting , screwing and killing stuff was his thing . But every morning he'd be sitting on the curb by my parking spot waiting for me to get home from work . Follow me inside , eat , sleep with me all day . Six years of that and feline leukemia got him .
The next two were indoor only . A bad thyroid took one at 15 and the next passed at 20 . I cried like a little girl each time . Cats are not dogs , but they can be cool and lovable little critters .

So sorry for your loss.
This is Sasha, also known as punkin head . She was a rescue 4 years ago. Like you we intended to find a home for her after we had her spayed and shots.
She is a good natured cat with no bad habits. We spoil her , she has us trained very well.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your little buddy, they do have a way of creating a spot for themselves within the family.
Wife and I have 3, Emmett, Randall, and Pearl. Much like yours, Pearl was from the streets, found when she was only 5 months old, her personality saved her life, she came right over when called, so to the vets for a check-up and then home to our family, she's tiny at only 6 lbs, but she has the biggest heart, and the biggest attitude when cornered by the other 2.

shes the little one in the middle with the white chin like a tog

Cremated remains....of a cat?
Mine has a hole in backyard waiting for him
6 mo ago, bro and me was working on moms house. He gets call from his 2 daughters.....25 and 24. They were watching his dogs while he was out of town. One of them...about 18 years old....with heartworms.....walked into kitchen , had heart attack, fell over dead...thud....done.
They called hysterical. He told them to put her in car, take to vet. WTF is wrong with people today. Dig a hole.

For Some of us our pets become like family. We wanted to and did cremate our golden doodle. She loved the water and some of her ashes will ride with us in our boat all summer
Who is to say right or wrong or how much love we give our pets. .02 bad form to piss on a grieving thread.
