Terro. Non poisonous to humans and it is just awesome to watch the bodies stack up.

Get a box of 20 mule team borax clothing detergent and a bottle of corn syrup, molasses or honey. 1 tsp syrup to 1/2 tsp borax. mix it up and dab it around where the ants travel. They will swarm it within hours and be GONE in a day. if it's on a place you can't dab it, put it on a square of paper or cardboard.

Same as Terro but much cheaper and you can clean it up with the leftover borax and water.

When all of those baits fail, go with the bifen. Baits will usually work for a while until the ants stop eating it.

another vote for Bifen . Also for roaches, silver fish , wasps ,termites ,spiders, ticks , fleas, etc.
safe for pets after it dries.
Amazon has it. I spray once a month, which I'm sure is way to often .

Another vote for Bifen XTS, great for crickets in the fall too.

I just spray the foundation and work my way out away from the house. No more ants.

This is for outdoor use only. I think they have another for indoor, but never needed it.

borax. borax. borax.

make a weak solution so they feed for a week or two. then they will gone for years. a trace of it ends up in all the ant trails and nests, so when a new colony tries to establish it withers.
the trace last for years unless it is exposed to the weather.

just mix it with whatever they are eating.

and because it is so targeted, only being in the ant trails and nests, other wildlife is unharmed.

this is the modern age , dont use bifen unless you have too, and with ants, borax works much better.

If she's worried about chemicals being around she could use diatomaceous earth .

Had the same thing a week ago in a bedroom closet. Never knew they were there, but my trusted guard cat found them one night. I have a bug guy that come every other month. He does the full job with dry and wet stuff around the perimeter of home plus his hand spraying the perimeter of the walls inside each room and under sinks etc. We too keep a clean home with cleaning service too.But they just showed up and were between rooms in the wall. After 3 extra visits days apart by bug man, the final thing was the Terro that put an end to them. Maybe it was a combination of everything done, but it went on for about 10 days.

xts is the high test stuff. Go with the IT inside the house. Doesn’t smell like death like the xts does.

I haven't seen a sugar eating ant here in 20 years. They will walk over Amdro and not take a bite. They can get real selective in what they eat when you bait them. Pretty soon the ones coming back won't eat that.None of them are immune to Bifen tho.
