Our last guy was lab/plott mix. I loved that dog. He was by my side constantly. So loyal.

We now have a lab/mt cur mix. Female this time. Wow is she smart, and a real sweetheart.

A little hound dog in the soup is a good thing IMO.
Man that is so true. I'll never have another dog that isn't part hound.

Our Plott had two big floppy ears until his sister (a beagle) chomped part of one off. Now he has 1-3/4 big floppy ears.

He's the most tolerant, smartest dog I've ever had. Highly protective of my wife and our sons.

Damn he's a lazy sumbitch though. The king size bed and king hickory couch are his domain. He learned his cool trick for the unsuspecting...if you are in his spot on the couch he will go stand by the door and entice you to get up and let him out. Then he'll snake you and go steal your spot on the couch.

He's an ass.

Anyone know of any good, reputable Boxer breeders in Florida. He said he wants to try and stay under $800 per dog. I have no idea if that's doable or not.

Thank you!
Big Joe is from Kellaney ....

Very good breeders... top quality dogs from champion bloodlines...

European Boxers - so will be very large and super high drive .. Joe is 92 LBS

Some of their dogs are in USA maybe you ask them for breeders locally

Boxers of Kellaney - News

Loved my boxers, but maybe the dumbest dogs I ever had, although one was albino and deaf. My potcakes from Marsh Harbor were amazing.

if you’re tried to convince him and they refused why on earth would you help them find a breeder? Just say I don’t know one you should go to a shelter and move on?

I'm a Georgia redneck. The best hunting dogs I ever had was a curr someone dumped on the road before he went to go hook up with Billy Bob's wife.

If you want a great pet,get a rescue or go get a pound puppy.

Like other hav said, $800 will get you a backyard breeding with no history of the health clearances of the bloodline. This may cost thousands of extra dollars in vet biill's due to health problems. Spending and extra grand for a better quality dog will save you in the end. My dog "is" the champion bloodline with the history and all the titles. He has his own webpage under CHIC and you can see every dog in his lineage from mother to brothers, long distance half sisters, etc.... and any of the health clearances they have. You can follow it back quite a ways and my reviewing data get a pretty good indication on how healthy his line is.

Amish and Mennonites breed boxers and have for a long time. There are breeders in those communities.

My good friends entire family have boxers and always have. One of then just lost 2 of them in the last few months. He wanted another and tried a boxer rescue and said they were more strick than trying to abopt a child. Ended up with a pup outta Grand Junction, CO.

While it's a great thing to do getting a rescue, you just dont know what you are getting as far as health.

Some of the rescue operations have morphed into money making operations. We were recently ,looking for a gsp. Florida GSP Rescue charges $400. For an older dog with possibly bad habits. We paid a breeder in Ocala $650 for our pick of the litter. And yes it had all its shots, was registered with AKC, And came with a clean bill of health from a vet.

Really....how cool, never knew that! Don't think they'd want to travel that far though.

Amish puppy Mills aren't where I'd be looking for a good pup . If I got an Amish pup I'd consider it a rescue .

Thanks everyone for your help.

Well this is BS considering spray has proven time and again to be of high character.

I don't agree with anything the "University" of North Carolina does or stands for but if someone asked me where and how to get tickets to watch their "student athletes" I'd help them do so.

Bleh, yeah that was a stretch. But I think maybe it sort of makes the point, if you don't think about it too much.

That's not a good analogy.
