Default Is current home construction taking a hit?

See the roads with less people on them but plenty of guys at all theses house being built in central Florida still going strong. Will they catch up or are they keeping on because of construction loans already being signed?

I was at 84 Lumber today and the there was a line of tradespeople loading supplies endlessly. Y'all need to stop watching the media and live your lives.

I'm in the trade, or at least supply to the cabinet/closet/remodel manufacturers, and we've been busier the last two weeks than we have been all year. Now, I'm sure it's going to catch up with us, at least in the remodel/addition side, because I doubt people are going to let installers in to install a closet, etc.

Florida builder here, I will 100% co-sign the "busier in the last 2 weeks" comment. I have gotten a nice uptick in new client meetings, took a couple deposits this week and have no shortage of work starting in the near future in addition to our current projects.
My clients are not the "loan" type so that has no bearing. They are well off, CEO types & don't seem worried about things going on right now in the least bit.

Glad you're doing well my air conditioning business sucks ass. It always does this time of year but nobody seems to be wanting to spend any money right now. I have to motorcycles a boat and a vacation home I was getting ready to list on the market 2 weeks ago and now I don't know what to do for timing I would say. Meanwhile my neighbor listed her house for sale 3 weeks ago and sold it in 5 days right before all this virus crap Depression hit

General contractor doing additions, remodeling and commercial upfits.

Right now I have plenty of work and just had 2 more clients commit today.

I was told by fellow Remodeling guy yesterday that his supply house was shut down due to worker possibly having the virus. He was waiting on an order to finish a job and was told it would be at least next week before they were cleared to open.

No, going strong here. My new construction only plumber buddy just bought a mini excavator because the guy he normally calls is always too busy lately.

I don't do new construction but hvac service, repair, and change outs are strong and have been thru my normally slow time...even with a very mild winter.

Boston shut down 10,000 construction sites. Contractors allowed in for emergency service work only.

Still going and have a few contracts out right now and waiting to get them back. Hopefully ill have a few contracts and deposits in the next week. We will see though.

I have an elderly couple that I help out and they want a lite kitchen remodel bad but I am terrified as he has a very weak immune system and as careful as I would like the guys to be, it is overly optimistic to think they will be washing hands and letting me know they aren’t feeling well.

Here’s the list that just came out this afternoon in Pennsylvania. From what I understand it’s a federally generated template.

We are moving some of our salespeople out of the office and sending them home to work. That's good, but for us, you can't drive a forklift or a truck from home. If someone gets sick in any facility, it's going to be a problem.

We’re still going at the same rate but we are also working on water treatment tanks, and wastewater treatment tanks. We have some contracts for resurfacing apt balconies coming up, and I’m not sure what they are going to do if their not receiving rent. Time will tell

All construction just got shut down in pa tonight so I’m guessing we’re gonna get backed up because we had work on the books. All the guys are in a panic
