The fact that she is seeking a criminal conviction tells me that she likely did something to provoke the whole thing. Not that he did the right thing, but there has to be more to the story.

A progressive response profile:
"Excuse me sir. Would you please stop hitting my seat?"
"Do you mind?!?!?"
"Look. Asshole!"
The fact that he felt intruded upon by the reclined seat is the fault of the airline that chose that design and layout, not the user of the seat. Suck it up, shithead.

1. request the Stew intervene or face possible termination of employment.
2. inform Stew to advise corporate airline of probable lawsuit.
3. remove the assistants purse, with extreme prejudice.

Battery. It makes no difference if he is pushing her or the seat she is sitting in. They keep using the term immature. They aren’t wrong but he isn’t an annoying kid who doesn’t know better - he is a grown adult intentionally hitting her through the seat.

I wonder what the "whole truth" really was. Did the guy ask nicely for the woman to keep her seat upright? Perhaps he had longer legs than average (I do, 6' 8") and had her seat pressing against his legs. Hard to judge the incident without knowing both sides of the situation. I would have 1. Asked nicely for the lady to return her seat upright, then if no favorable response, 2. Would have called the attendant to see if she could have handled the situation. Really no need for hitting the seat.
As long legged as I am, my knees are against the seat when it's upright. No way someone can recline their seat in front of me, hits my knees before it will recline.

This story flew around the news a few days ago.
The woman...she has a bad back..and has to recline back. I can appreciate this because I have a bad back. My wife and I travel a lot. These days airlines pack the seats so close together...compared to decades ago, you're packed like sardines. I'm 6'5"..with a bad back. Difficult to remain "pain free" while flying..I have to move a lot. I usually slowly put my seat back at least a little bit. Often not "all the way"..if there's a large person behind me.
Would have had words with this millenial guy behind me.

If the seats recline it's your right to recline them unless otherwise instructed by the FAs. These douche bags who insist that their personal space is being invaded need to up their spend into the front of the plane where their space might have more breadth. I've got a 9 hour flight coming up and I promise you, if anyone tries to get in the way of that magic button on the armrest I WILL be carted off the plane in handcuffs.

Hell, you can barely call it "reclining" in the typical coach seat. It moves back what, 3 inches?

Impossible to comment without knowing what happened before or after, but initial reactions are the dude is a tool bag based on the video alone.
Sounds like she's being a bit overly dramatic though with claiming missed work, etc. But again impossible to judge just how bad her injury is or if it may have in fact been exacerbated by the toddler behind her

I have read several stories and my conclusion is Karen as always was wronged and a complete victim in her own mind.

Him or Her? She knew full well that reclining bothered the guy more than a little bit, and she continued to do it. They were both bull-headed about it, but she started it by continuing after being asked not to.
