I think it was part of a cereal promotion. The picture of it looked impressive, when it arrived it was a tiny little thing. I loaded it up with baking powder and let her go, it sunk, then floated up, then "burped" and sunk again. Even as a kid I wasn't impressed. It ranked up there with some magic screen that went on the TV, you connected the dots or something and traced out the message

I used to Race them a lot when I was Single......Now, Not so much.........

I remember having a baking soda powered red plastic rocket, I don’t recall how well it flew.

Yep.I had one also..I remember the Baking Soda.. Thought it was a P.O.S. as a Youngin' too ! LOL

I remember ordering one with a coupon from a cereal box and waiting anxiously for it to arrive in the mail. I had the 3 baking soda-powered frogmen as well. Good times!
