Default US vacation areas you LOVE but would HATE to live there?

We always here that cliche' so I was wondering what you all think. I admit that when I go to visit tourist areas I always dream about how it would be to live there. Perfect example is Alaska. My daughter live there and I can't wait to go back and visit but I can't imagine living there full time......

I would have to say that I love visiting and spending some time in Florida's sunshine but I really do not know if I could live there full-time.

Hawaii would be at the top of my list. Being trapped on an island is part of it, but it is mostly the bias against outsiders that bothers me. It is strange to me that they have an economy largely based on tourism, yet the locals hate tourists...

On the the other hand, I could imagine living in SoCal or Florida, although I doubt I would ever do it year-round.

I hear ya....but I guess you have to live in a tourist area. I live in The Keys and there is a big movement down here against tourism because they destroy everything in their wake with trash, loud parties, etc...But our main problem is the Daytrippers from Miami who literally take over every public space and erect tents, play salsa music and leave their diapers all over the ground.

New Orleans. Loved my time there. Was there for three months - I could feel my arteries hardening. I had to eat at McDonalds to get recalibrate my system. Walking to work at 6:30 in the morning on a Monday from my hotel - passed the bars on and people spilling out - holding beers, beads and looking like hell. Too much for me.

Any place that is tourism based for it's economy or any big city. They all look alike to me.
