untrue. The glaciers are shrinking. But they are still there.

As such, I assume that all scientists are:

A. Idiots
B. On the take

And thus I don't listen to pretty much anything they say. It's all agenda driven. Let the glaciers melt. The water is delicious.
And you would assume wrong. But hey, you don't really need penicillin or electricity or glasses to read or the Haber-Bosch process to fix nitrogen for our crops, or refrigeration, or the cotton gin, or pasteurization, or oil refining, or the development of antibodies, etc.

All brought to you by scientists. Please do not get in your ICE to drive to work or turn on the radio or AC. Because those were all brought to you by science and obviously created by idiots on the take. Have a great fkcn-fantastic day.

Scientists funded by universities are pretty much driven to arrive at conclusions desired by the funding institution. To do otherwise results in the loss of research monies.
As in everything. Follow the money.

i have a nice weeping pussy willow out front. that pussy started to blossom due to the warm weather. I am worried that when it gets cold again the pussy is going to take a beating. I do love the look of it in the spring. there is always a bird that comes to visit the pussy willow. Please pray for my weeping pussy willow.

also I really need to trim my pussy this spring. I didn't do it last year. it is getting over grown

I don't have a picture of mine but similar to this

Feel free to tell everyone how you did it, just don’t continue to do it.

I've heard it proposed that the CFC scare was pushed by a CFC manufacturer that held a patent for some of the better ones. The patent was going to run out allowing others to manufacture the CFC so they got their own product banned only to be replaced with ones that were covered under newer patents.

Well, the ICE, radio, AC are all possible by science but brought to you by engineers. The scientists wouldn't be able to make it actually work.

My statement was really only directed to the shady research that is prevalent, mainly around political issues such as global warming, etc. And also the question of "follow the money", etc. I don't trust any of this research.

It is obviously not applicable to the type of scientists that discovered penicillin or electricity. Sorry if it read that way, didn't mean to strike a nerve. Apologies.

The is the same tale they say about air conditioning refrigerant (r12, r134a, r22, r410a, etc). Oh Dupont's patent is about to run out, so they spread the rumor that the previous version was harmful. But the new patented version is much safer. Not sure if I believe any of it.

True. I occasionally work with the Biological Systems Engineering department on campus for their expertise.

Yeah. Your statement struck a nerve. I'm tired of ALL scientists being maligned because of a select few. Yes, there is occasionally bad science published in low-quality, poorly refereed journals. It's rare to find that in quality journals with high impact factors like Science, Nature, Genetics, etc.

Yes, there are a few cases where a scientist's conclusions might have been influenced by conflicts of interest. I don't see that in my discipline. I occasionally read a conclusion that I don't think is supported by the data or I might disagree with the methodology used. But that is a different story.

I don't assume all engineers are idiots because some traffic engineer thought a short on-ramp up a mountain was a good idea (on my way home). I just think that particular traffic engineer(s) were idiots.

I'm with you, and agree. I did not phrase it well, so again apologies.

I've cursed a good number of traffic and firmware engineers. And mechanical engineers that apparently have never had to actually WORK on a motor vehicle.

"The total area of Glacier National Park covered in its iconic glaciers shrank 70% from the 1850s to 2015, according to USGS. Melting began at the end of the so-called Little Ice Age when scientists believe 146 glaciers covered the region, opposed to just 26 in 2019."

So it all started in the 1850s when Automobiles and airplanes burned fossil fuels and began destroying our atmosphere.

Except that "
It is generally acknowledged that the first really practical automobiles with petrol/gasoline-powered internal combustion engines were completed almost simultaneously by several German inventors working independently: Karl Benz built his first automobile in 1885 in Mannheim." And except that
"on December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright made four brief flights at Kitty Hawk with their first powered aircraft. The Wright brothers had invented the first successful airplane. The Wrights used this stopwatch to time the Kitty Hawk flights.

Hey look, only people with their head buried in the sand would say that there is no global warming. But manmade global warming from burning fossil fuels may be a stretch and at its worst a "lie" as demonstrated by the above facts. So global warming started well before the internal combustion fossil fuel burning evil engines were in widespread use!
