Everything I have is great. Not an issue with any items so far.

What’s your gripe ? Do you buy Chinese junk and expect quality ?

Go to home depot and either buy their house brand (ecosmart?) or CREE. I've had very good performance from both. And the cheaper ones seem to be getting better and better.

In fact, the only ones which I've had bad experiences with are some of the "legacy name brands" like GE and Philips. (not counting the philips hue bulbs which are super expensive but good) Most of those have been garbage. I assume they know they are selling junk and are just milking boomers for every last dollar.

I’ve had some duds, but nothing widespread. Finding good ones with the desired color has been more of a challenge than finding bulbs that will last.

my favorite part is when running in generator power lighting is zero concern, I just turn on what I want to. Entire house worth of lights is only about 6 amps.

Interestingly enough home depot is selling flush mount ceiling recessed 3"-5" LEDs now that have a 3 or 5 way switch in-line to select the color, you can switch the color temp from warm white to cool white and then pop it in the ceiling. Thought this was clever, we'll see if they last. Needs about 1-1.5" of depth.

I don’t have an issue. Shop lights, house lights, head lights, all of my cabin and boat lights, flash lights are all LED and I have had only a few duds over the years. Maybe once every 18 months one someplace will give up the ghost. Even the cheep Chinese Amazon crap I buy I have had good luck with.

Not the HD versions but my electrician loves using these. His are less than 1.5” depth as I believe it fits in a 1/2” thickness of the drywall. Makes laying out a ceiling simple, no need to worry about the joists.

I can’t recall having any issues with LEDs to date. I’ve used a lot and even a lot of cheaper ones and they have all worked well and I can’t recall even replacing one in any recent history.

I don’t think there is any scam and don’t see then going away anytime soon. They may be overpriced, but so is everything that leads a market.

My only complaint and it probably has more to do with me, is that LEDs really mess with my eyes for some reason. As long as I do not look at them it isn’t a problem.

No issues, have to get the right "temp" bulbs for application, but after that I have zero complaints.

Unless we're talking about LED light bars on trucks or putting other bulbs without appropriate housings in vehicles scattering blinding light all over the place and putting no photons on the actual road, then yes, they suck.

I've had LED everything since 2013. House, boats, car/truck interiors, every bulb except my overhead stove bulb inside my microwave. Only complaints are have to buy dimmable LED if on a dimmer switch on a circuit. Cheap bulbs, well, they were cheap for a reason. Only the discount ones I bought in bulk went bad, but they were cheap so, lesson learned.

Its a shame that has been your experience.
Most people are taking advantage of the new technology with great results, both economically and aesthetics wise.

I put 115 recessed lights throughout my house when I built it in 2015. All are LED light bulbs. Only have had one failure. I have three kitchen lights that have been left on almost continuously since moving in and still work great. Easily talking 30,000 hours on them

Did my entire home in 2015. Power bill went down about $30/month, and I have only had 2 bulbs out of about 80 go out.

I have LEDs over my reef tank for 7-8 years now doing an excellent job, without the heat of my previous metal halides. I also have them in my landscape lighting in the back yard. 3 watt bulbs incredibly bright and cost around $.36 per year to run for 10 hours a night. The only issue I've had is putting LED spot light bulbs in our kitchen fixtures and them being slow to start on the existing light switch and dimmer.

OP never returned to explain why they're a "scam"?
