Default What's the Worse Firearm You've Ever Owned?

This is an easy 1.

WAAAAY back when, planned a hunting trip up north. Never went and by the time I fired this rifle it couldn't be returned.
Walmart had an unbelievable deal on a (Remington, I think) 270. That thing was the BIGGEST POS ever to be called a rifle.
1 shot and you were ready to throw it into the bone fire or chop it up.
It literally felt like a pissed off mule kicked the life out of your shoulder.

Shot it 3 times and sold it.

Never bough another cheap POS firearm ever again after that one.

Easy one for me too. Gun wasn't a POS, it was the operator.

I bought a Sig 1911 .22 for plinking. I couldn't hit the target if the barrel of the gun was pressed against it.

Met a guy years later that was a gun nut, we are friends to this day. I asked him to shoot it. He bores out the center of pistol targets at 25 ft. Guess who owns the pistol now?

AMT Hardballer and AMT Backup

Both POS. The Hardballer was a jam-o-matic, took it to a gunsmith who specialized in 1911, he looked at it for a while, took some measurements, told me to throw it in the lake, All thedimensions were out of spec, OH... and the thing had galling issues.

AMT Backup... DAO, hammer spring is the trigger spring, not bad if you want a 23 lb trigger pull.

I haven't shot it yet but a little old lady that is a family friend gave me a Rohm RG24 22LR revolver that I'm pretty sure will fit the bill. The best I can tell they might be safe to fire but the preferred use in a self defense situation would be to throw it at your attacker.

Walther P22, for me. Absolute POS. Literally traded it for a used KelTec PF9 just to get rid of it.

Taurus 9mm. Jammed more than it shot. Traded it in for a Glock.

Glock got stolen during my move to Florida.

toss up btw Tec 9 would jam all the time but looked cool and when ran it was fun. Walther p22 always jammed was a pain to clean and didn't look cool so I guess the Walther wins

Kimmel AP9. I bought one January 20th because it was the most evil looking gun in the local shop. Also the worst shooting one in the shop too but it looked "EVIL"

We bought a Solo and it was a POS , jam every third shot .
We sent it back to Kimber and its better now , but we shoot 147 gr bullets through it , 127 gr bullets seem to work ok also , but it likes the 147gr bullets better .

Bought a Thompson Center semi auto .22 rifle the first year they came out and excitement turned to disappointment when the thing frequently jammed, and when it was working there were minute metal shavings being trimmed off the receiver by the bolt. That was the last time I bought a gun that was not in at least its second year of production. They may be great guns by now.

And folks wonder why older firearms bring such a premium.

Because they were hand made, fine tuned and coated with a finish that lasts a natural life time or close to it, good ones anyways.

3 1/2” mag Remington 1187. Traded on a Browning when 2 years old and guy only gave me 25% of what I paid.

prior to that was a 1400 Winchester Auto. Total piece of crap
