Default I-95 in South Carolina...

!#@$%&! What needs to be done? Specifically south of I-26. Tax me. Make it a toll road. But for the love of god, FIX THAT DARN ROAD. For those not in the know, where I-26 dumps in, all the cars makes it a parking lot. The road is 4 lanes, and it should be 6. 1 hour section of road took 2.5 hours to travel.

I think they should tax/toll the shit out of all the snowbirds on 95 through the Carolinas and Georgia.

Make the NY and NJ plates pay for it.

We now avoid 95...we'll go out of our way and take 81 when we travel from North Florida to Long Island.

My wife grew up right off exit 57. When we occasionally visit these days I duck off of I-26 and go through branchville about half the time.

I do the same. Get off in Fredericksburg 17/50 to 64 then 81.

The only issue with giving the state more funds is that they will piss it away and not spend it where it should be spent.

root issue is corruption. Senate president pro-tem is also on the state infrastructure bank board. And he (err.....his wife) owns a concrete company. The infrastructure banks existence is garbage to begin with. Basically take road money and put it there to be leveraged, but that bunch of funding is only able to be used for construction, not maintenance. Huge corrupt mess. Best I can tell is he’s untouchable. His advanced age will get him soon.

His son-in-law had until recently a cushy job with a billboard company that does all the exit signage.....and got convicted for something or another. Got off with house arrest, and got busted for soliciting a cheap hooker the same day house arrest started.

I drove up to Simpsonville (Greenville) and back a couple days before Thanksgiving. That area south of Simpsonville was the worst part of the 9 hour drive.

Sounds about right...I lived in SC for a short time...My impressions is it was very corrupt and many things were about 100 years behind the rest of the world..

we building giant diesel power plants in afghanistan, but we can't fix this?!? Seriously, we need to send the national guard to get this done. With all the shipping in SC and GA, this is a huge infrastructure bottleneck.

It took me five hours to drive through South Carolina on Friday. The traffic came to a dead stop at least a hundred times. There
was no construction, no wrecks, no reason to slow traffic. How can that happen?

No mostly two lanes. Sucks because it's not enough for the northerners and drug runners.

No. the south end of VA is 2 lanes, most, if not all, of NC is 2... I think the only 3 lane section is in SC by Florence.
