Computer keyboard... odd... any idea.

On one of my computers. (Windows 10) -- when I type the 'l' key (lower case L), it types rl instead of just l.

I've googled to no end... anyone ever come across this. It does it with a logitech K400r. (wireless). Does not do it with a wired keyboard.

If the issue follows the keyboard (try it on other computer), then there is crap dropped in the keyboard. The signals are multiplexed on the board, a little "yogurt" in the wrong place can cause issues like this.

That keyboard is from 2014 - May need to update the driver software to be compatible with Windows 10

OldPete 12-25-2019 09:20 AM

Does it if plugged into another computer.
Updated driver to most recent driver.

Same problem.

Maybe it's a computer buffer overload causing the issues?

Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!

Fn key on your laptop’s keyboard permanently enabled.
To rectify this issue, you can press the Fn + Num Lock keys together. However, this solution can be performed only on the laptop computers, and using the laptop keyboard only.

? The keyboard in question doesn't have num-lock.
I put it in the laptop for kicks... and tried the Fn/Num Lock. Didn't fix it.

Funny enough... the r does rl... and the l does rl.

Definitely the keyboard... as it does it on multiple machines.

Keyboard took a crap on ya. It happens man. Strange symptoms no solution I've found yet outside of replacement.

Is this a wireless keyboard?

OldPete 12-25-2019 10:28 AM

Yes

loverofshells 12-25-2019 10:28 AM

It's in the original post - It's wireless

Missed that

Pete

Try updating the driver - Pretty much automatic once you go there - try the link I posted above as later updates may have addressed issues with windows 10 which did not exist in 2014 when the keyboard was made

Let's just think about this for a second, you move keyboard to other computers and it's still bad! kind of suggests (yells it at you actually) that the keyboard it shagged, updating drivers is not going to fix it, toss it away, get a new keyboard, happy typing.

Think?

If a new battery doesn’t fix it, then file 13.

ericinmich 12-25-2019 03:26 PM

Turn it upside down and bang it like a screen door in a tornado.

osudaddy 12-25-2019 03:37 PM

Just buy another keyboard. Merry Christmas. No charge for the advice. ;)
