Who has never seen snow?

Serious question, just curious: how many of you have never seen snow?

catmandoo1 12-16-2019 08:21 AM

I have seen more snow than I want living here in the frozen north! I wish I could send you southerners some so you can " enjoy" it!

Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles to name just two.....................................

Ray didn't go blind until age 7 so he may have seen Snow.

Then there are those that say Stevie isn't blind but I am not one of those.

I don't mind snow for a couple of days by choice, if I was looking at months at a time of the crap, I'd move

SeaJay 12-16-2019 09:37 AM

We in the north put up with the stuff to make our money during our working lives and then move away when we stop working to get away from it. An added benefit is that we get to preach to the locals down South how to do things better.

Lived in Chicago for 45 years. I've seen enough snow for most of us.

You remind me of an old joke about how yankees and snow are alike.

When you come down, then go right back up, you are tolerable.

But when you come down and stay you are a pain in the ass.

I had not seen actual snowfall until I was 18 (in Iowa, of all places). I had seen a snowbank in the summertime when I was 16 while hiking in the shadow of a 13K mountain in New Mexico but that's it.

Grew up in Buffalo, need I say more?

Garett 12-16-2019 10:14 AM

I like the snowfalls where you get 5 - 6 ft in two days.

MarlinBohner 12-16-2019 11:14 AM

31 and never seen snow

I was in Steamboat Colorado about 10 years ago on a field trip. Boeing 757 Fuel problem, no spar valve indication.
It was ski season and there were some newly hired security employees keeping tabs on us out on the ramp.
5 degrees and I don’t know how much snow but it was a lot. I’m a former Yankee so I was dressed appropriately.
These kids they hired were from the Caribbean. Never seen snow, never been in freezing weather.
That look of horror on their faces demanded empathy. I talked to a couple of them. They were hunched over, teeth chattering.
They thought they had died and gone to some frozen hell. They wanted to go home so bad. I must admit,
I’ve become spoiled by the mild winters down here in Texas. It would be hard to go back to Kansas.
Don’t talk to me about August on the ramp though. Everything is give and take.

Blizzard of '78. Need not say more

schoolsout1 12-16-2019 11:53 AM

We see it about every 10 years or so here...last time was 2 years ago, I think. Shut the damn area down (it was about 7-8") as roads were frozen over and we really aren't prepared for that. Everyone goes nuts, but it was fun. Lost a week of work.

How about WHO NEVER WANTS TO SEE SNOW AGAIN?
I lived in Wisconsin for over 40 years.
I plowed or moved more snow than most people will ever see.
I snowmobiled thousands of miles.
Moved to Florida 15 years ago and never care to see snow again,
and the same goes for below zero temperatures!
