Default Custom diamond flip flop pendant project.

I was asked several days ago by a THT'er to make a diamond flip flop for Christmas...but instead of the normal run of the mill stuff, he wanted it a lot fancier that what he was able to find on the internet.

I have decided (until I un-decide at least lol) to go with an all pave diamond foot bed with a simpler strap. The really simple strap was too simple so I am stealing the woman's Sperry flip flop detail. The back of the flip flop will also have the detail often found where the strap attaches to the sole. The piece is roughly 20mm long.

I am certainly open to thoughts and suggestions...and I am still playing with it. So far I think the foot bed is too flat and we are messing with some detail for the side. We are also going to change some diamond sizes to fill in all gaps. It will greatly complicate the piece because we’ll have tons of different diamond sizes but it will look better.

here is the first draft.

This time of year we can't waste any time...went straight back to the drawing board. Added some curve to the bottom, added some detail to the side and changed some stone sizes out.

That's going to be beautiful. You do amazing work. I have a very good, long time friend that is a jeweler. He is also very talented and turns out some amazing work.
Is the flip flop going to be a pendent?

Oh man I love these threads Jay! Love the piece you made for me, and my wife loves it even more. Love the renders, really makes a piece really special. FYI, I put a little book together with all the pics, along with some text and it added a bit more to the gift. After she read it, I handed her the package. Really added a whole other level to the special piece of jewelry.

I’m not a jewelry person myself but I enjoy seeing you’re creations. They are always beautiful.

Gem Vision is what we normally use.

This really is a great idea! I hope you don't mind if I borrow it for my reveal. My better half has been with me for the last 35 years, and I would be lost without her. This pendant fits her to a "T"!
This last year she and our daughter has spent more weekends than usual at the beach house and she will be tickled pink to see what goes into making the ridiculously beautiful art that Jay produces. I can't thank you enough Sir! Can't wait to see the detail that goes into this.

Really amazing and beautiful stuff! I'm glad me and my GF broke up because that would have been very cool to get for her.

as always when I make these custom pieces....making another exactly like it is sort of in the hands of the original guy who ordered it.

we can see if he chimes in.

Combines a woman's two best loves, diamonds and footwear ;-) Genius. Next time add some stiletto heels.

Maybe just me, but I feel like there should be two. One flip flop seems incomplete to me.

Really like your work, can wait to see the process again
