Default 2020 Toyota Rav4, interior lights suck...bad!!!

No, no, this is not about the unbelievable towing capacity of the rav! Seriously, this car is pretty awesome, but guess what you don’t see at the dealership? Yep, how well the lights work. So, the headlights are friggin great. Lights up very well. But step in at night, and it is a joke. I searched and couldn’t find much on the topic, but ordered some aftermarket LEDs, will see if that helps. Just wondering why? Todays LEDs are cheap and bright, why not light that beeatch up? Anyone else notice this with other makes/models?

Probably not important but bright interior lights greatly affect your night vision.

Are you kidding me? Boaters are immune to the effects of light on night vision. Hell, run a light bar in that thing.

Interior lighting seems to be a very low priority on vehicles. My other gripe is that I can't find the switches to turn on the interior lights on most vehicles in the dark in a hurry. I usually just open the door.

I honestly gotta say I memorized where all of my stuff is at... early on. Maybe it’s a Marine thing... maybe not? Situational awareness?...

Get yourself a good flashlight. I noticed that in my truck there is no lighting down by the floorboards.

Is the dimmer for the interior lights turned all the way up?

Yes, was the first thing I checked. Not even sure why they have a dimmer, because nobody would want them dimmer! Just can’t understand why they wouldn’t put some good LEDs in.

Bright interior lights are far down the list of must have features that many buyers are concerned with.

This. It's never crossed my mind, not even once in 40+ years of buying vehicles, until this thread...

I guess some of you guys ^^ like to live in the dark! Put some LEDs in tonight and really makes a big difference. Just mind boggled why they don’t put them in from factory. My Yukon is well lit when you open it up. Anyhow, thanks for the replies, well most of them!
