Well since it is time to put the bikes up for winter for many of us, how about a two wheeled picture thread. Florida guys please don't rub it in too much that you are still riding

Currently shopping for my next "barn find" project...I like finding sorta older Harleys and fixing 'em up while riding over a couple of years, selling, and moving to a new project. Hope to have a new project on the road by summer. Here are my past ones (and my wifes)

Wife on her Sporty (carb'd 1200 with stage 1 kit), and my Shovelhead....on some run we made up to Colchester CT.
The Shovelhead was a hard bagged windshield FLHS...the FLH "Sport" model, sort of the predecessor to the Road King. I ripped off the hard bags and windshield...put on floppy saddles...built her up with a lot of authentic old school parts from swap meets. Tore down the engines, tranny, primary case, swapped out front forks.

My second favorite ride, picked up this Springer from up in New Hampshire and gave it a sorta classic David Mann look

Up close of my Shovelhead.

Had a buds old Honda for a summer...had kids riding it for practice, and helped school my wife so she could get her MC license..pass the test. We used to live across the street from a school so I had her practice riding this a lot to get her riding skills back, doing "the box" and slalom cones, etc.

Her Sporty up close.

I had this one years ago, she started out life as a Street Box...2006 Dyna FXDBI. I changed the seats, removed all labels and emblems...fresh glossy black paint (cuz street bobs all came flat paint)..ditched the mini apes and put on SuperGlide bucky bars, sorta redid her as a SuperGlide style. Johnny Cash special with all the black. Worse bike I ever owned...I don't like the fuel injected twinkie engines....I prefer the older carb'd Evo and Shovelhead engines.

Running across the country on the Trans America Trail.

GPS from iron but the last day to make it home for work the next day. 1060 miles, 15 hrs and a moving avg of 69.9 mph. Felt drunk when I stepped off the bike. Single cylinder 650cc bike with no wind protection.

eh - I stuck with the OEM style. It's not exactly what I want, but there are bigger issues to deal with right now.

Yes, made my way down from Delaware to the start of the Trans America Trail in Tennessee. We all met at a guy's house in Tennessee at the end of Deal's Gap.

We had all shipped gear there to start the trail. I had a set of knobbies waiting for me there. I swapped out my tires to the knobbies and promptly ran Deal's Gap in the rain of brand new knobby tires.

One guy came from England and bought a bike off Ebay in Chicago. He flew into Chicago, rented and small SUV and disassembled the bike and threw it in the back. He showed up, we put the bike back together and took off the next day,

I've done a lot of riding and that was my best trip ever, I couldn't do the whole trail as I had limited time off so I only made it to the other side of the Mississippi before beating it back to the North East in a haze. We were meeting up with new guys along the way that would ride a day or two and peal off. Three of the guys went from Tennessee to Oregon.
