Default Medical Alert Services for Seniors - Recommendations?

Looking into the possibility of getting my Dad who is not in the best of health a medical alert device, something he can wear as a watch or whatever, that if he falls, collapses etc and his mobility is hindered he can hit a button.

Does anyone have experience with these devices? There are a lot of options out there.

Will he wear it?

My mom was in an assisted living home. Every resident had one.
Christmas day I walked in to find her on the floor. Been there for hours. She Left the button on the bathroom counter.

I Know she used it a couple of times before. I think they are worth it.
Do not remember the "brand'.

Try using one associated with your phone or alarm/security service. They are all pretty much the same. Make sure that you can cancel the service in the worst case.

We had good luck with Phillips lifeline from and operational standpoint. Was easy to setup and worked fine. Problem was my dad would not wear it and we ended up getting rid of it. Not sure how it compares to cost with others. I would get one that is a cellular stand alone unit as we had problems with one that we tried that use an existing phone line. Some do not work well with VOIP phone lines.

I asked the same question on here within the past several months. Received numerous replies recommending Bay medical. Found good reviews for Bay medical elsewhere too. We ended up going with that for my MIL.

Thanks, I looked at that one. The device looked really big compared to some others and there was no watch option.

I went with https://www.medicalguardian.com for my father. He used the pendant version since he had trouble putting on a watch. I like the way it worked anywhere, and works independently without some other service required. I also liked that I got the same notifications that the call center received.
